If I were to use the system pictured below for growing would the plants be too close at any time? Either root wise, or the plants touching during any stage of Veg. or flowering. I just need to know if the pots are too close or if anything would happen. I plan to grow in a grow tent so space wont be a problem. If I were to fill every pot would it be an issue of space between the plants?

Please reply and thank you very much!! :] :leaf:

Great for clones but too small for growing actual cannabis to any size, perhaps autos...? either way do your first 2-3 grows with soil ...get dialed in first

Thats unfortunate i really wanted to do Hydroponic DWC... Are yo sure soil would be best? Im not doubting you I swear. Its just ive done so much research on hydroponic growth. It's kind of a bummer. :/

I've been growing 45 years all types of canna in all types of ways, maybe its the engineering in Hydroponics (DWC) that attracts some people to DWC ...? true you can get very good yields but at the cost of quality most the time, if you never grown cannabis before I'd suggest that you start with soil, as above or at least a coco hempy grow method

I would listen to Vostok, With hydro there are so many more things that can go wrong with your grow in a short amount of time. Soil is less forgiving, but is alot more stable then hydro. I mean if you got a pump failure after you go to work those plants wont get what they need until you get back where as soil no pumps no problem. Only thing hydro has going for it is the time saving aspect, I firmly believe that quality comes from dirt.

If you wanna know someone that is doing hydro right check out Superstoners thread in the aeroponics section of the forums.

I started out doing hydro and have never grown any other way. NO REGRETS. I use an Ebb and Flo system. 6 plants in a 2x4 tray.

Well what attracted me is the fact that some suggested it was a faster method and yielded more, but I can see you know what your talking about. Is there any way you could refer me a shopping list or something, My price range is $1600 maximum.. I just want to grow very high quality high potent plants to sell and to keep some ounces for myself. The stuff out here is all bad and im sick of smoking it. I do hope good Sir or madam that you can guide and help me. I was planning to use a Gorilla Tent and a 1000W Hps bulb but thats as far as I know. Humidifiers, Cooling and AC are still a challenge as I know not how to implement it into a grow tent. heh

Thank you for your imput piper, I am listening greatly to him and thank you for the referral. I feel soil is best at this point in time.

From what iv'e seen, the most Massive yields have come from soil, and Mother Nature does know best. She started in dirt so it is her nature. What about strains like Sour Diesel hybrid types. Can those be grown in soil as well?

I agree with vostok that you should start in soil until you've got a feel for growing and what can go wrong.
At least if you do something wrong, in soil you've got more time to fix it. In dwc if something goes wrong it can mean the end, very fast.

Saying that tho, one of my close buddies is on his first grow. He's went with a wilma big 4 system. With clay pebbles and coco as his medium using canna aqua nutes.
He's doing really good and loves the system. He's made mistakes I.e vegging to long. But its his first grow and is learning for the next.
its entirely your choice bit id be gutted for you if you were back on here in a months time saying you lost your crop.
good luck and best wishes what ever you go with man

Thank you gardener. I feel the soil advice is best for now and eventually after learning enough I could switch over. Learning the ropes is something I need to accept along with the patience. Im in no need to rush. Im hoping there are no issues but there is never a guarantee especially with the fact that im so new to this.

Sour diesel does well in soil or soil alternatives like sunshine #4 or pro mix. I've had 10' tall sour D's in 10 gal smart pots with pro mix.

HOLY SHIT HAHA

Good information by everyone! I'm a first time growers, currently on week 1 of flowering and I agree Soil is the far better choice for beginners. There are so many aspects that go into hydroponic growing and like someone said earlier you need to really dial in your technique before you go Hydro. Some people have stated they started hydro and it went well, cheers to you lucky guys / girls.
