Hey all! First time growing on my own, very excited!
Strain: Sour Diesel from seed (9-10 weeks flowering time)
Light: 600 Watt HPS for flower, T5 6400K 6 bulb grow light ($55, Amazon) for veg
Soil: Custom mix of Organic soil, Peat Moss, Perlite, Dolomite Lime and Worm castings in 3 gallon pots
Space: 3' x 3' x 6.5' custom made grow tent from PVC pipe and panda film
Environment control: A/C unit connected to an Inkbird ITC-1000 Temperature Controller. A space heater is also available for heat, but thats not an issue here in SoCal this time of year.
So! Right now I have 4 plants, 2 older by 1 week.
- 1st older plant is super leggy but doing great so its going in my friends's backyard
- 2nd older plant is basically ready for flower, being almost 5 weeks from seed
- 1st younger plant is super fat and healthy, this will be my mother
- 2nd younger plant is looking great too, but not as fat as the other one, so its going to flower in about a week or so
While I am flowering the said plants, the mother will produce my clones for the next grow. Timing should be just right.
Here are my questions:
In regards to this grow:
I will have 2 plants that will be taking up a 9 sq ft space. My thought is that I will supercrop the shit out of them. Keep them short and bushy because they will have the whole area to call their own.
- When do I top? They're at 6 and 7 nodes right now.
_____
In regards to my next grow, from clones
For a 3x3 space, I have several plans in my head. These plans are 2-3 months out so they are subject to change. A lot.
Plan A: Small SOG DWC style. Bunch of clones, couple of totes, you get the idea. This is pretty standard
Plan B: Flower the mother SCROG style after cloning her. She'll be nice and bushy by then
Plan C: (my personal idea, and my favorite, at least in desire to attempt). 6 plants, 3 on each side, bent sideways across the entire 3'. Its kind of a combination of the idea of supercropping, and photos like this:
My second question is more open ended:
- Which plan do you like most? Is there a Plan D that I'm not considering? What would you do with a 3 x 3 space, and why?
Thanks, looking forward to your replies!
