Newbie with a couple more questions

Hi everyone. I think I have most of this down, and I don't mean to obsess, but I have a couple more questions about a couple of plants.

The first pic is of the purple passion. I just got her Sunday. She came in a cube so I transplanted her the same day. The dirt was already moist because I had used it the night before to keep a clipping alive.

On Sunday the water meter read a 5 on a 1 to 10 scale, so I didn't water her. The next day she was a little droopy and the meter read a 3.5 (dry). I didn't know if she was under or over watered so I gave her a cup of water. Yesterday she was drooping a little worse & the meter once again read 3.5 (dry), so I tried another cup of water. This morning she looked like this (see first pic).

I think I overwatered her so I'm going to let her dry out for a couple of days. Can anyone confirm that this is the right way to go?

And more importantly, since plants droop for both under & over watering, how do I tell the difference in the future?

The next plant is an Opium, I got her 12 days ago and transplanted the same day. She's been doing fine, but this morning 2 of her bottom leaves were really light green. Not really yellow, just kinda washed out of color.

One leaf has some damage. I think that was from accidentally getting it wet during a watering or two.

I'm using Foxfarm Ocean Forrest Potting soil (1/3 perlite & 2/3 soil) and I mixed 2 table spoons of blood meal (12-0-0) and 2 of bone meal (0-10-0) in with each 5 gallon pot. And I have a 400w MH hung at 30" from the top of the pots.

Can she need nutes already or is this something different?

the soil is probably a bit hot for the young clones. all had roots, right? allow the soil to dry, water with neutral water and use superthrive. they'll probably get better and thrive once they get used to their new homes.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Do you have any ideas on why the 2nd plant has 2 leaves that turned very light green. Like a light lime color. (I know the cam I used isn't really picking up the shades of color well, sorry about that)

Sorry I didn't answer your question. They all had roots, this one came in a cube so I can't really test the moisture level of the medium the roots are in at the moment. I tested the dirt right next to the cube.

I'm keeping the temp between 72 & 80 and I have my thermometer right under the lights at the level of the top of the pots. I'm not so sure it's the temp, more probably over watering.

New question. The little one has a leaf that's starting to get crispy. Is this a sign of over watering, under watering, or nute burn?

probably nute burn. ocean forest is pretty hot already, without adding organic npk. just run water until they pull out of it, they will probably be fine.

yo DGE, get a feel for how light your pots are after watering. a saturated pot will FEEL significantly heavier than a dry pot.

when starting with my latest strains, a couple weeks into veg i let them dry out for seven days... waiting for them to show me they were thirsty, ended up being 6 days but i let em dry out for another day....lol...

so i started watering about every 4-5 days and started listening to my plants. after 3-4 weeks veg i was watering every 3-4 days. now at two weeks into flower my girls show signs of being thirsty every two days.

next time let your pots dry completely, and you'll know when they are cuz you pots will be lighter than shit. give em a drink and know how much heavier they are after being fed....

hope this made sense...... i'm pretty ripped...

I agree with all that.....overwatering is so easy to do.....I let my seedlings go a week at a time (in a 6 inch pot) before I'd water....they thrived on it....as someone stated somewhere....they're weeds and more likely to live through a dry spell rather than a flood....roots actually grow further in drier soil since they are seeking moisture....let'em seek!
