Newbie with some questions

Hey all RIU members! I'm a newbie here but have attempted to grow bud a few times, however i've been cut short several times by unfortunate circumstances.

I picked up some really good shit recently and found one seed in the entire quo, and thought what the heck, i'll go ahead and try to grow it. this is what i have to work with. a small cab that i built originally for starting veggies before the last frost, with just one t-5 bulb and reflector that's about 2 feet (maybe a tad shorter) long. I know i'd probably be better off with hps or cmh but i just don't have the money to spend on that right now, and i'm curious if i can do an entire grow under this one light.

right now my plant doesn't look the greatest i'll post some pics. just wondering what you guys have to say, or if there's any hope.

A 2ft t5 bulb = 24watts.

So no, you can't. You're gonna need more light homie.

if u just grab some CFLs from walmart or homedepot..spend like $10-$20 and ull be able too..just get 100w on tht baby and ull get smoke for sure

YES you will be able to grow.Keep that light close to the plant while you are growing.Look you are not going to get a monster but you could
get a little yield.T5s are not bad.Just so you know i grew an average plant with a 20w 6400k cfl! The main thing is to not over water it.Give
it a good watering every 3-4 days and then leave it.GET yourself a cheap timer and give it 18hours light 6 hours total darkness then after
about 60 days fllower it give it 12 hours light 12 darkness and the most important thing is to have patience you will only really see it growing
when you start flowering good luck

exactly what baked said: downside is bud quality will be very loose with the poor lighting but u can def get slice or soo..def dont over water its not the water thtll hurt it its the rootrot from the stale ass water..without alotta lights it was soak up the extra water quick enough so itll just sit there longer until ur plant actually soaks it up

Can you grow them in your backyard? I'm in Southern California, Zone 8, the weather here is perfect. I sowed some seeds in fabric pots and they popped within a few days. A nice Indica like White Widow or White Rhino will stay short at 4-5 feet, and yield nicely.

I have a pretty simple setup indoors. It consists of one 200W 6500K CFL bulb & hood ($260), four one-gallon fabric grow bags ($10), and a timer ($10). My growing area is 2'x2' walled in section of my closet. I have never tried to flower with it, but I did grow a single Indica for three months under a 125W. I would think 400W-600W would be more adequate for flowering. Since I don't flower, 200W works for me.

Check on Amazon or 1,000 Bulbs.

My first indoor grow was with t5 lights. Worked out well. With flourescent lights the key is to keep buying more! T5 lights work great. Since you're on a budget, just get one more T5 when you feel like flowering. 2700K are fairly important for flowering with T5s. Keep those lights real close when flowering, and you should end up with some tasty decent smoke. I'd rather burn herb that isn't as dense or potent but tastes great than smoke something that someone grew strictly for profit and tastes like crap. I was very happy with the results of my first indoor, and after that I had the bug! Also, spring is here in the north. Maybe find a nice little sunny spot and put it outside in a few weeks? There are many great ways to hide a small plant outside, even in the city!

As for your seedling looking wonky, check ph, add more holes to the bottom of the container, and don't fret over it! Mary seems to like her space...
