I just got my medical marijuana card and some plants a friend of mine didn't want. Since I'm only allowed six plants legally, I want to get the most bang for my buck.
Here's my plan:
1. Use a perpetual harvest.
2. Let each plant grow very big but bend it horizontal so light reaches the whole thing.
Since this is my first time growing, I don't know exactly how long it takes from taking a cutting to harvest, but Jorge Cervantes's bible says 91 days. (Is that for a SOG type grow, though?) Assuming a 91 day (or so... I'll probably screw up and slow down growth a few times until I get the hang of things) cycle, if I take a new clone every 15 days, I should have 6 plants by the time the first is ready to harvest.
The mother and the vegging plants will have a Pioneer Sunleaves T5, and the flowering will have a 600 watt HPS light. I think that will be enough.
One complication is that I can have only 3 flowering plants at one time, so maybe I'll have to space it out more?
I guess my main question is how long of a life cycle will there likely be, given that I want to grow each plant as big as possible, bending it to horizontal? How tall should the plants be before moving to flowering? I'm thinking 2 feet or even more? I read that moving them when they're 1 foot tall results in a 3 foot plant at harvest, which is more SOG-like. What should it be for my anti-SOG horizontal plan?
I have three strains right now: Super Blueberry, Jack, and Skunk. I also plan to grow for a friend of mine, so that adds another six plants I can have. As you can see, it gets kinda complicated. Any advice?
