Im about to go to maplins in england to buy a power strip and 2 26w clfs, im wanting to grow 2 small plants in my room in a draw which i have gutted out. i am living with parents so has to be small haha, it looks mint like a normal draw.

Its 1.2ft wide by 1.7ft tall space

Anyway i been reading and reading and i only want 2 seeds to try to grow 2 plants and i have come across Short Rider female seeds which are very cheap and apparantly grow quickly, so im probs going to buy a couple of them from http://www.pickandmixseeds.co.uk/pro...na-short-rider

Is this wize or are they crap?

also anyone else in the UK do focus and maplins sell good stuff for growing ?

and any other UK places you know of ?

Thank you

here is the draw

Hey dude im in UK. Maplins probably not best. eBay is better. Get some money together and get a 300w dual spectrum CFL. Look it up. You wont be able to grow anything with just them 2 lights. Have you thought about ventalation and smell? You will need to put fans in it and you will need a carbon filter of some sort or a low odor strain such as Northern Lights. Growing without your parents permission is never a good idea as if you get caught and your parents are renting they could loose there home etc and its not worth it. Just my 1p worth.

You can buy those exact same items @ screwfix & it will defo be cheaper. Maplins are dear & what they sell is cheap. That drawer is small mucka, even the smallest plant will fill that up. Screwfix & then of to Ikea. :D

haha well im on a very tight budget i just wana do it for a bit of fun, i will have a fan and a vent pipe once they start flowering and a carbon filter aswell, my house is owned by my parents and my rooms all locked up.

Apparantly i cant use the power strip cause they dont have them in england, so im going to have to use a 4 way extensions lead. but how do i plug a bulb into an exension lead ? what is the fitment called that plugs directly into a plug and powers the bulb without a lead, a somthing socket ?

thanks

bayonet fitting or screw cap depending on the bulb.

You cant plug them straight into an extension lead. You will need a hanger for each bulb and plug that into the extension lead. The plants still smell in veg aswell. Also you will need fan and vent from begginning to get fresh air in and shit air out and to keep temps down.

also this is not really sort of hobby you can do on a budget if you actually want bud. I thought I be able to do it on a budget now im probably £200-£300 in.

i cant see that bayonet fitting or screw capfit directly into a plug socket. Ireally just wanted to have a set up with an extensions leads with 4 26w bulbs on it inside the draw with reflective blanket all round and a carbon filter and fan and small air duct.

Is the only way really to buy the expensive ready make lights of ebay ?

and djlifeline haha that will probs happen to me :D

in retrospect I wish I just went for it properly the first time and wouldnt cost me as much. There is NO WAY you can plug lights straight into an extension lead. Trust me I searched internet for hours. White paint be better then a reflective blanket. With just one plant anything from a 125w - 300w be ideal aslong as dual spectrum. I planned my grow to start stealthy and got excited an bought more then got to big for pc then too hot for wardrobe now my parents know and its in the shed in the garden.
