I do want to make a veg cabinet to go on top of this one but only half as wide, single door setup, and the top will be against the ceiling. It will be on the right hand side, to better conceal the ventilation noise and to cover it completely. I will take out the existing closet shelves and make shorter wider ones that meet up against the side of the veg cabinet. So it will look like a nice custom closet organizer.

Then I use the veg cab to grow a mother plant that I take clones from and then do what you just said.

Thats a great idea. And because you are skilled it will look and work awsome.

When I saw the sog result the guy had I was imressed. I think he used about one square foot for one plant.
all lower sidebranching he cut back to the first internode of the branch. The whole plant looked like one enourmes bud. As I stated above it was ak47 from serious seeds.
the only compareable kind of one cola plantstyle I have seen was a top44 sog but for sure there are a few other maybe more potent strains that will work that way.
if you have access to a source for buying clones would help getting rid of a selection run.
and the sog style with the short vegtime is much less maintaining work too compared to scrog but you know that.

Cant wait to see the upgrades. Its just a few weeks untill harvest for you m8 so soon I will see that handy hand doing some top work.

Oh I forgot....
When you run a mother plant keep always a copy of her. She can get sick and die and if you dont have a copy to replace her you will be pissed off if she was fire.
I remember me crying huge elephant tears when my super fire hindu kush mother died due to a virus and I had no copy of her. She was a beautyful bonsai shaped mother and gave me so many clones for me and my buddy. Not to mention the great smoke she gave us. And me dumpass lost her. What a shame.

Update: begin week 5
Plants seemed to have finished stretching, now time for them to fatten up!! Took some lights off pictures this time. The crispy area is frome the plant growing so close to the light before I moved it higher. The bud sites that where burned seem to be recovering and growing more hairs, although the leaves around them are crispy.
Also maybe a tiny bit of nute burn on the tips of the leaves, might dilute the nutrient solution down a bit.

UPDATE: begin week 6
Everything is going good, fattening up nicely and smells incredible in the cab!! Trichomes are coming in heavy, going out on to the fan leaves. Also have seen maybe 6-10 amber hairs in total on the plant.
Humidity has risen since the beginning of the grow, but that's expected with more plant mass in the cab now. Don't expect to go any higher than 50%. Here are some day and night pics.
I am so excited for this grow, can wait to see how much it yields in the end!!!!

UPDATE: Begin Week 7
Fattening up nicely, starting to get some cloudy trichomes as well 15%

Planning on starting to flush in the next week, for a two week period. So ill be in the 9th-10th week of flower when its done. judging by the thrichomes I think that'll be the perfect time, but ill be checking them often to be sure.

One of the colas that was burnt the worst when it got to close to the light, seems to have sprouted more bud sites at the tip top making it a total of four. It looks super deformed though, I thought it was pretty interesting how it managed to do so considering it was burned. Just seemed to have put it in to overdrive. Idk how good the bud will be from that part but I have plenty more colas to choose from.

The smell is amazing. kicks me right in the face when I open the cab up. Its a surprisingly very sweet, skunk smell.

As for the next grow, I have some ideas. After this grow is harvested, I will take out the additional piece I added to the cab to make it taller. Allowing me to take proper measurements for the veg cab that will go on top.

I am planning on having two mothers in that cab. White Rhino will be one, the other either will be Ice, or I have some White Castle seeds. Then ill run either 6 clones 3 of each or 8 clones 4 of each, I still need to do some research as to how much space I should allow for a hydro DWC sog.

UPDATE: Half way through week 8. Day 59.

Getting fatty with the most amazing smelll. Super dense as well. Pinched one of the colas and it was hard! Some of them are having a little lean in them, just got way to tall for the scrog net.

Also got a new (claimed 60x) magnifier that attaches to my phone. I say "claimed" because I have another 60x magnifier that looks closer but it's hard to get my eye to focus, it's a tiny eye hole.

Triches look almost all cloudy maybe a couple amber. Enjoy the pics

UPDATE: Harvest Time!! Day 70

So I harvested yesterday after 2 weeks of flushing, and the trichomes were looking perfect to me. The smell while trimming us unbelievable, best smelling Weed I have grown. Although only having 4 previous grows under my belt. Cant wait until after a few week cure on the buds.

This is the first time I have trimmed the same day I have cut down. I like to make ice wax and wanted to try running fresh/frozen, instead of dried out product. Usually I only cut the fan leaves off, let dry, then would trim it all up and take the smaller buds aside to freeze. But this time, while everything is still fresh I put it into the freezer.

Enjoyed reading your grow journal, what were the wet/dry weight(s)?

i trimmed and froze my last batch fresh too... first time ive done it as well. I usually make oil or butter, and i thought it was much easier to break up this way, just let it freeze and mash it up with a spoon or something before decarbing. good looking stuff man!
