News Quiz

I missed two questions. I put 150,000 troops in Iraq instead of 70,000 ... and I must have missed the Glenn Beck question and left it blank, because I got that one wrong too.

Don't feel bad Vi, I thought to myself "There couldn't be that many people in Afghanistan" and picked the low number.

I got 10 correct. Missed the Afghanistan question and the unemployment - I guessed my state percentage because I'm so used to hearing it.

I'm almost ashamed of myself. Maybe I should start watching Dancing with the Stars and quit watching the news.

Kinda sad people don't know these things, though. There was another quiz recently where you had to identify pictures of prominent political figures and most people scored HORRIBLY, but at the same time people scored really high on the quiz to identify movie and tv stars.

Here is a really interesting follow up to this test.

Repubs outscored Dems...

My hunch is that if the results were the other way around, the amount of coverage would be a tad higher....

And we all know Fox News viewers are cretins.

Pew Political IQ Poll: Republicans Consistently More Knowledgeable

You likely won't see this poll result elsewhere, so I thought I'd highlight it here. This is a Pew Political IQ test conducted over the phone with 1,002 adults from Oct. 1-4. They were asked 12 questions, and answered an average of 5.3 questions correctly, according to Pew.

I got 11 right. Missed the Dow Jones one.
I watch the gold and silver markets. Screw stacks. If I want to gamble- I go to Vegas.

I had a temporary lapse of reason and blanked on the Fed Reserve Chairman. I knew it I just blanked until I saw it in the answer. Nevertheless, this is a sort of entrance test to see if you have even the basics about what is happening on the other end of the joint (or pipe, or balloon...) to engage in an intelligent debate in this critical thinking forum here at RIuP. That or it is just for kicks and has no meaning at all...

Fun, tho...
