Next state that is not on ballot already: NC for sure, democrats are pushing it as we speak

Last State: FL

Big possibility IOWA might be last actually cause even though the people and government want it to happen it is nearly an impossibility with the way their system is setup some outside force like the federal government needs to intervene

I live in nc and its fucking killing me that i cant grow, i heard it wont be legal here for another 5-10 yrs? thats bullshit

TX will be last for sure. look at how it all got started. in 1914 the passed the el paso drug act. after that, everyone starting illegalizing it. it was meant to control the hispanic population, and knowing texans, as ive lived here all my lif,. these are some of the hardest headed people around. (well law enforcement types) so for the people who started it all to go back on there view and change it. well. itd take 49 other states to legalize first. lol. and then they still wont!!!! lol. but i know WE DONT GIVE A FUCK. FORT WORTH, DALLAS, AUSTIN, HOUSTON, SAN ANTONIO STAND UP!! we got some of the best home grown... well in this state atleast. :)

I live in NC and really hope they do soon. Do you know if there is going to be a vote or anything that we can get out and actually do to make this happen?

Lots of people seem to think that NC will be the next state. My question is: How long before the next state *becomes* the next state to legalize? End of this year? End of next year?

When might NC actually allow MM?

Lastly, can we expect that each new state, which joins the MM revolution, to have the same ease of access to MM cards that the other states seem to provide? Or will they for some reason be more difficult to acquire than it might be in the current 14 legal states?

Well as far as complete legalization of Cannabis , so far no state is completely legal. In November as most people are aware of already California has the Tax and regulate prop on the ballot. This would make MJ completely legal in the state. SO that means no more probable cause for smelling like cannabis, no more will stems and seeds and smoking paraphernalia be probable cause for the police to come search your house. I do however disagree with the fact that it will limit you to 1 ounce of weed and a 5x5 grow area. But with that being said if the police don't have probable cause then they can't come in and check out your grow. If it was me drafting the bill I would not have put a cap on the amount you can posses or grow. I say complete and total freedom to grow this plant just like any other plant.

As far as the last state to embrace some sort of MMJ program I would have to say Texas. This state is full of died in the wool, hardcore Marijuana prohibitionist. What is equally sad that most of the state doesnt give a fuck as long as you arent trafficking it. I recently went to a Slightly Stoopid concert in Corpus Christi, along the South Texas Gulf coast. When the band took the stage, everyone , I mean everyone lit up. There were cops there but then soon left. THey stood in the back and just laughed and chilled like the rest of us. Also like Corpus there are some very 420 friendly cities. The one that stands out the most is Austin. They have smoke outs and the Bob Marley tribute festival every year. I missed this year. High Times just recently had their Doobie Awards there and the 2nd Annual Cowboy cup pitting the best homegrown strains in Texas against each other. The NORML chapter in Austin is very active and are currently trying to gain support for a MMJ program(Ron Paul for president in 2012). So I would have to say is that if you aren't trafficking in it or dealing it and are smart about it then Texas isnt half as bad as most people make it out to be. BUT regardless its still illegal to possess Marijuana in Texas. THAT in my book gives the police discretion to arrest you. Remember it's not illegal to smell like Marijuana and it's not illegal to act like your stoned(just don't get pulled over). This is just my 2 cents.

Got to disagree man. Alot of good stuff going on in Texas and Astin. Many new people from across the country are moving to TEXAS. (i think it is too hot and a bda place to grow), but I dont think it will be the last place to get MMJ laws. Try places like SC and GA. Those are some shitty states to smoke in and dont have a progressive movement of any kind. GA has some good music happening and some festivals, but nothing like TEXAS> That place has Austin (which rocks) and alot of large music venues with outdoor festivals, many of which are having weed be an increasing part. It is also about the make up of the State Legislators. And Texas is old white, but has more and more diversity coming every election. those old peole have to die at some point. While other parts of the south have no diversity on the horizon.
