Next Grow...Autos

So I'm starting to learn what I can, as we all know there is a ton of info on the 'net, and here as well. I guess my first big question hovers around light cycle. One of the "best auto growing guide ever" that I've seen mentions 24/0 through the whole grow, but I'm not seeing a lot of this kinda talk....what are your thoughts? Also, I'll probably be lighting with CFL's again with this one and I'm curious about K values for my bulbs, all 3000K all 6100K or a balance, I think I've seen somewhere to mix it up a little.....any input is appreciated!

Blue spectrum for veg and red spectrum for flower. I've never heard of keeping your whole grow under 24/7 light. Wouldn't that encourage stress and maybe Hermie-ing?

I don't grow too many auto's. Like computergroove say's on light spectrum. And while some people do grow under 24/0 light schedule because they are auto and will flower, I prefer 20/4. 18/6 would be ok too.

MJ guru Jorge Cervantes addressed this question a few years ago and actually did some research into the question. To make a long story short he found that either 24/0 or 20/4 light schedules were better than any other schedule for autos. He advised going with the 20/4 option only because it saves the bulb a few hours a day. When I do run a batch of autos I grow them through their entire life cycle in my veg room which has a 400W bulb going 20/4. Works 4 me, BigSteve.

I use 20/4 because that is what the breeder I normally use recommends. I figure if Dutch Passion says 20/4 they know best.

hey blue....I would recommend 20/4 for autos from start to finish, as I personally believe going 24/0 does not justify the electricity used.

For your CFL's , you want a mixture...for veg you want mostly 6500K and in flower you want mostly 2700K....and 5000K can be also used through out the entire grow

the common mixture is 3:1 ...so three 6500K and one 2700K in veg mode....opposite for flower....and toss in a few 5000K for the extra spectrum
