Hey Hyroot, thanks for responding. Yes, I saw the product there, although it's considerably cheaper at monstergardens (not the 315, the 630). As I'm just window-shopping at this stage, I'd really like to know some performance stats for all the options. As stated earlier, I realise the 630 fixture may not be the way to go, but I'd still like to see how much more light is produced and how well it's dispersed from the 2 lamps together, under that larger reflector. As an aside, I'm also curious to know how a single bulb performs in the 630 hood, so as to try and extrapolate the value of using a mixed spectrum (if that's the correct term) of 4200k AND 3200k lamps instead of the conventional changeover between veg/flower from one to the other.

By the way, do you know if the Phillips Elite Agro CMH lamps are compatible the OG reflectors as an alternative to the Sun Systems hoods? And if so, what type of ballast might be best? I ask as Sun Systems products are not sold in the UK (so big saving on shipping a heavy unit instead of only the bulb and less difficulty if faulty). I found these OG reflectors for vertical bulb orientation in the UK: http://www.hydroponics.co.uk/og-reflector.html#.VKtHgGp0yPw

EDIT: And thanks for your opinion by the way. Love checking out your garden. Nice educational vid's too. Keep 'em comin.
I'm not hyroot but they have an adapter that also works as an extension I suppose. Kinda like you'd use on a 600 watt light in the OG, the lamp isn't quite long enough.
Welthink makes a ballast for the 315 , it's kinda pricey but welthink makes some solid stuff.
I have a luxor hood I was thinking about running a 315 in but those luxors are huge and it's hitting craigs.

Some more info about the 315 vrs 630 , the lamps running in the horizontal position change spectrum. Can't remember the details.

Nice, looks like a coupe of onyx panels in between, good combo CMH/LED, should pull some nice frosty beer can colas :)
Hopefully soon I'll find out!
Just filled the rdwc thing made of water coolers, running some strong h2o2 thru it now, should have plants in it tomorrow. They're sitting in a tent under more onyx veg and bloom.
Getting a bit tall some of them are. That's me in trouble again.

I've been searching for numbers for the LEC 630 and can't find them anywhere. Do you have a link you could share please?
So I have one of these http://www.bghydro.com/sun-system-lec-630-120-volt-w-3100-k-lamps.html?utm_source=google_shopping

Very much worth the money. I ran it in a 4x4, with a 6 inch exhaust and 4 inch fresh air intake, with it mounted on 2 small hooks hanging directly off of the support poles.

This light is Super Stupid!, rapid growth and very well developed buds early on, the sativa hybrid's stretched and exploded. Dense nugs to the bottom, and a super low electricity bill.

Getting ready to start another run with it, this time I plan on scrogging the sativa hybrids :)

I think with the DIY lights people can get the cost to down between $0.80-1.00 a watt. That is with Bridgelux or Cree components, using name brand Meanwell drivers, given it takes a small amount of know how, but crushes $2.40 a watt.
