alright..here we go. with this years growing season comming to a end, im working on planning next years grow. i normally grow outdoors in a feild where my plants get plenty of light. its VERY close to a rual road. since i only grow like 3 plants or so that wouldnt be cause for to much attention.
but next year i was planing on doing 10-20 plants. so i have some questions. my main concern is that i have worn a path to were im growing. their also seems to be a airstrip a couple of miles away from my home. and theirs another catch..im only at this home every other week. basicly what im looking for is tips on making next year sucsessful..and not getting busted.

anyone? any ideas?
Matt....do you stay at your Dads one week and your Moms another....It's hard to plan for next year...20 plants...an airport....a beaten path....3 strikes against you...time to make a serious decision. If your a minor you jeopardize your parents lives.......

Don't put all the plants in one spot, put 2-3 per plot. This will improve your odds of still having some left come harvest.

Have more then one route to your spots, and do not have a straight line from the road. The idea is to make it as hard as you can to find your spot(s).

If you are only going to be able to visit them every 2 weeks you will need to figure out how to keep them watered. Either some type of auto irrigation setup or possibly using water polymer crystals to extend the time between watering.

Make sure you do your homework. There is nothing worse then busting your ass all spring and summer only to have your crop found... Good luck dude.

Prep the site this winter...dig 3X3 holes and mix in compost, steer manure, sand or vermiculite...The soil will be fertile the whole season. Myself I start seeds indoors mid February and by the the end of March I can sex them and put the females in the prepared beds at that time.
By the way...I grow 5 plants and it takes up an area 7 feet wide by 35 feet (see photo. 20 plants will take up 4 times the area....Are you sure its safe?

yeah it should be safe, the area is the size of a american football feild, i was thinking about putting some of the plants close to the trees, so their more camoflaged.

thanks for the tips man. one great thing about the spot is theres thorns everywhere, and its close to a swamp, so that means plent of mosquitos.

yea man, really u dont have to woory about the planes as much as the choppers. THOSE are what's looking for ur shit! (and the moochin thieves lol) planting by other similar looking plants, a few here and there, should help enough to camo them. one thing i can tell u that hasn't been mentioned yet, take a rake w/ you and rake back all the shit lying on top of the soil, dig ur holes, then u can spread that back over the top of ur filled in hole and it's harder to notice that the ground has been disturbed. (plus it helps to protect the soil from drying out and needing to be waterd as often) which would be one of the easiest ways for a helicopter to spot ur site from above: seeing fresh dirt around ur plant. anyway just a couple of tips, hope they help u on ur way to many ponds in the future!

I totally agree with doowmd. That dark patch of soil around the base of a plant sticks out like a sore thumb from the air and looks even worse on the ground. Rake it over. Have different trails and alternately use them, zig-zag them off of the road or main trail so that they are not as detectable. Plant along tree or shrub lines alongside similar plants (Go look now at what plants resemble your crop at this time of year. This is when they are most vulnerable.). Briars are your friend. Nobody likes to explore amongst briars. If you are totally hardcore then you can even train briars into a short tunnel that you can crawl under for just a few feet to get to places and conceal the entrance of a spur trail to your crop. Clear minimal natural brush away, dig your holes, fill them, and start fertilizer this fall or winter. If you go ahead and get that taken care of then you can concentrate on your seed starting/cloning late winter. Most of all, don't tell/show ANYBODY! Period. Good luck!
