NFT system advice

Hi
Ive just set up my 1st indoor grow tent, ive got nft gt424 system to go in the tent, the tent is a loft cube tent,1.2 x 1.2 with a pitched roof to 1.6m in height,i have a 5inch rvk fan running thru an air cooled reflector with a 400w hps bulb and a rhino carbon filter with the warm exhaust venting back thru my house, intake is drawn in thru a small open sock.
My question is do you have to run an air stone in the nft resevoir?it is not included in the kit,but i seem to be reading that everyone seems to be using air stones

When the water drips down from your line and breaks the surface of the res it is technically creating oxygen.......unfortunately if you want a big plant with nice buds then your gonna need more oxygen in your water so i would for sure add at least two air stones. If you can put ten air stones in the res then do it, the more oxygen you have in the res the better the plants will grow. Im growin an autoflower right now i started in a two gallon bucket with 4 air stones and industrial size air pump, the plant is almost 4 feet tall and i should get about 4 oz, and that is nearly unheard of for a auto flower. Less water and more oxygen=bigger plants. Only down side is with a smaller res it is harder to keep the ph in balance you it requires some trial and error. I can promise if you put a few airstones in the res you will notice a difference.

Thanks for the reply,i'll def get on the case and sort out an airstone,i have 5 blue cheese in the gt424 using rockwool cubes, they are very young and only 3 or 4 inches tall but so far so good,i hear what your saying about them needing more oxygen as they grow.gotta admit tho the resonating noise air stones make concern me,noise is something i have to keep to a minimum,a lot can be heard in the silence of the middle of the night ;)
Great yeild off your plant btw,you must be well happy with that :)

Just run a 2 outlet air pump with 2 stones,,say 6 inch stones and put the pump on a solid surface ...the sound should be very low...if to loud , cover the pump with a bath towel to dampen the noise down....
The air will make a diff.
