Yes that looks like an Aloe Vera to me. We have one growing all the time. It's great for many types of skin injury. It's amazing for burns, it really reduces the trauma. Just cut a lower branch at the fat spot near the stock, squeeze out the near clear sap & apply to the burn area.

I used to run side lites similar to what you have, and as the plants filled in this lighting became point blank to just the plants on the edge. So maybe in your box a lower wattage tube might be better, I've run alot of T8's and the leaf can be in contact for a cycle without harm, leave it there 2+ days and it will get burnt.

thanks for chiming in watts. I'm so frustrated with my mover, the light keeps getting fucked up cause it hits the sides of the chamber from being pulled by the cord. It pops off of the drive link. I gotta think of some way to make it so it doesn't effect the movement, or I might just go get a 2nd 400

glad to hear thats regular aloe. I haven't messed with it since transplant, from what I hear you treat them much different than other plants
I plan on doing a 2 stage harvest, and when i chop the first half, i'm going to make a sleeve from the aloe leaf to help the cut scab over quicker
someone told me about it once, and that it will reduce shock when doing things like that in flower, sort of like a band aid

next run i'm thinking hempy all the way!

Ok so heres an update! these are all day 44 and i checked the trichs today with a scope and it looks like they are ready, regardless I will wait another week or three and keep monitoring the trichs.
One issue I see is the fan leaves have a bad downward curl, it might be from excess heat from the 2nd 400 I added in. It's really nice not dealing with the mover, but I decided to leave the light on it so i could bring it back and forth as I please, In case of bulb change and whatnot.
any input on when harvest is much appreciated as well as my concern for the clawing fan leaves. I had watered them yesterday and i did a finger check of the soil today and they seem fine, So i turned the exhaust speed up more.
Also keep in mind, the light cycle was 12/12 for 44 days now, but I took 15 minutes a day from 18/6 to get there, so that may effect how quick they're maturing '
thanks everyone!

oh yeah I'm thinking i'm gonna do a top-harvest in a week and a half, then let the bottoms go an additional 2 or so weeks,

oh yeah and the second to last picture gives the best idea of how much total plant is in there, it takes up the entire space, which is 4.5 feet by 3 feet
I also know 44 days is pretty early, and in 10 days that will be 54 which is still early, the only reason i decided to scope today is cause the calyx's have swelled and the pistols have receded on a lot of the tops, so i'm expecting the good portion to finish up; I will really appreciate any advice on this, and as said above keep in mind i slowly dropped down the light cycle

It's looking good to me man. The leaves are curling down uniformly which usually means overwatering or not enough oxygen in the root system. When they curl down just at the tip more sharply it is usually nitrogen a bit high. Doesn't look like heat stress to me, but I do not claim to be an expert. I have seen some of my plants do that and grow out of it in as little as 2 days so don't take any dramatic action to fix it quite yet IMO.

Nice setup

In that case the increased exhaust will help the oxygen to the root zone, because my intake is pulling beneath the air pots, I will keep it on full and closely monitor the moisture in the pot of the plant closest to the intake, it might even be too much airflow (which is why i had it turned down).
Is it possible they are starting to lock things out, because the purple stems on the fan leaves have been bothering me
I have so far given it 1/4 tsp foliage pro by dyna gro, 1/4 tsp protekt dyna gro, per gallon , all throughout flower. Just water with some protekt every other water , sometimes twice in a row. I haven't checked the PH on these once, cause I figured the lime in the Happy frog mix would be enough since i had just put them into the 15 gallons like 2 or 3 weeks before i started subtracting 15 mins a day.

I could possibly leech the soil a little I guess, and re-apply nutes, but I shouldn't risk over watering so I'll try doing that in a few days

thanks for the input bro!

I'd have to agree with Cascadian, about the soggy soil and lack of O2. But I think you also answered the root problem, in that your ph is off. If you get a ph lockout the plant won't uptake anything. Do what you can to dry out the medium then water at the low end of the scale (6.5).

The lime in packaged potting soil will only last for so long, and with rapid growing plants it leads to more watering which uses up more of the soils nutrient properties.

Over watering was always a problem for me when I did soil grows. The plants would be sprinting I'd increase watering, they'd hit cruising speed, and I'd drown them. So I started playin with hempy and it took over watering out of the equation.

next round will for sure be hempy's, i gotta find a store around here that sells decent coco, cause that gro-block coco i used last time sucks! lol

i do a finger check to check moisture before watering, and it seemed very dry. Perhaps the top 5 or so inches is much dryer than the bottom, I was hoping to have a good enough root system so that that couldn't happen :*(
regardless, the one that has the curling has some of the largest colas (it was the one that when i LST'd them down it still kept the 2 main shoots dominant)
i gave them all a nice watering last night like usual with no nutrients though, and i'll see today if it helps or hurts them

I agree that any lime in the packaged soil isn't enough. I always add 1 TBS per gallon to the soil mix. MadFarmer silica is what I add every 4th watering so not familiar with Protekt but from memory I think it is a silica additive? (ignore me if I am wrong). The silica additive tends to drop PH dramatically so you would either need to adjust or make sure you have extra lime to counteract it.

I am guilty of severely under watering my plants, I probably only give them a thorough soaking 3-4 times during flower.

severe yellowing on plants i plan on harvesting within a week, pics to come. I guess the silica may have finally dropped the pH or I haven't given enough nutes, and starved the last phase of flowering.
any input when i add pics, please chime in! I guess im at day 50 , but keep in mind It took me 24 days to get from 18/6 to 12/12 when the plants were fully matured (alternating nodes)

edit: no pics i forgot my camera lol update incoming though

You're already 7wks in and if the yellowing is in the autumn color range and the leaves as supple as they turn yellow not crispy, (and it's an 8wk strain) then I wouldn't worry too much. The plants are just eating up the the already processed sugars and carbs. If it were me I'd continue with lite feedings, raise the lights (if possible) and take at least an hr of lights away. If your plants are giving up because of their age then go with it. I believe they push out more resin in this natural process.

Note: Just had some deep discussions with a fellow grower, over many hits of his new strain specific oils. That may be reflected above:eyesmoke:

great info watts! I ended up chopping while RIU was down, and didn't end up taking pics.
By far the best harvest up to date, I still have to trim once they dry (dry trim) but have had samples and the stuff is very tasty
I was convinced this strain wasn't going to be all that great, but would yield more than usual, luckily it was very tasty and yielded plenty!!
Big bud by vision seeds was a good run, even though only a 3 pack, all three turned out to be great, Once i get a good smoking in I can describe what any differences of pheno's are , but at least it was a successful harvest (even though i planned on going longer..)

Glad you enjoy the fruits of your labor! Your own satisfaction is really the most important thing to calling a harvest successful!
