No lights before harvest?

Is it recomended to give the plant 48 hrs of darkness just before harvest? Ive heard it is.
NOT GROWING IN SOIL. I have 1 plant in a modeified Aerogarden 3. 12/12 from seed (cfl), using XNUTRIENTS.
NEED ADVICE.

It is a technique which some people use.The point of it is ,it shocks the plant into thinking that it is close to death ,resulting in it producing more resin than it would have to protect it's "seeds" .Never tried it myself though as i think the difference would be only slight.Maybe a little more bag appeal if thats what your after..

Greenhouse recommends that u put the white widow in total darkness for the last 2 weeks or atleast 8h so you get more resin, not sure if its true or only a myth but if I am not wrong a friend of mine did it with his super lemon haze ,not 2 weeks darkness but a couple off days and he did it also during the flowering period well he said they boosted in resin ....

I did it on mine .. did`t notice mouch .. maybe a littel ?

dunno but Im in no hurry and dont hurt Im sure .. just have to plan it right .. actualy I did it after 42 hrs .. but only Bc. it did fit me ..

some give em longer .. but I dunno ?
I just did it so I schould have been giveing them water on fist day of the 42 hrs darkness .. so they had time to dry out abit aswell ..

I think Ima try it. This will be my first harvest so I'll have nothing to compare to. But, after all the reading around Ive done it doesnt seem to harm.

i have done it side by side, same strain, it just make the bud oozz resins, My friend thoght it was totaly difent weed

Everyone thinks of doing it ,but when you have a plant thats ready to come down and you have the choice of taking that shit down or leaving it for 3 days more ,when it already looks dank as fuck, trust me you'll take it down..

I'm thinking of taking mine down, leaving the rootball intact and wrapped in damp cloth (from hydro) and leaving it in the dark to start drying.
Any thoughts?

just to be sure, i put mine in a closet for 2 days before harvest.. after all the work of the grow, what's a couple more days? u never know

if you just spent 5 months growing a plant. almost 150 days, at that point what is 153 days from seed to smoke when it is only going to be better???? if you think it is "DANK" now, just wait 3 days and you will see

yo wheres brick top with his C and P proof that on some strains it MADE A DIF. but by and large it doesn't matter. cept it saves you a couple bucks in electric.

A measurable difference or just "This shit looks like the bomb"? Never seen/talked to BT so idk if he does his stuff with SCIENCE or not.
