Have been growing my first plant and is now week 7 but still cannot see or tell if it's male or female yet
I put into flowering 12/12 last week so day 7 flower and still nothing
I grow in closet with fan and 4 cfls
2 25w
2 15w
And then just sunlight for most of the day
Is it normal to not see the sex of the plant till harvest cause people say you can tell at 4-6 weeks what it is

Females will usually show in 6 to 8 weeks in veg. Males usually show up quicker at 5 weeks or so. So far it sounds like you got a female.

Are the plants getting 12 hours of dark at night? I ask cause you bring it in and out. Nice plant btw

preflowers tend to be pretty small and can easily be over looked if you're not exactly sure what you're looking for, and easily confused with a stipule.. 7 weeks from seed isn't that old imo.. lastly ,are you seeing alternating nodes yet, or is it still the typical xmas tree shape, with one branch growing evenly out of the sides of the main stem, two per set, or are they a bit more staggered, alternating? once they start to alternate, you should start to see signs of pre flowering

here's what you're looking for.. this is a female... look closer at the nodes about 1/3 of the way down the main stem.. i'll show a pix of a male in a second..

females will have two little hairs coming out of a calyx, and the male with have a more ball . closed banana bunch coming out of the same area..

You might want to consider in the future to select a different type of product to tie your plants to the stakes than you currently have. The fibers that are coming off whatever it is you used and will confuse you in the future as the loose fibers look like the hairs that come out of a calyx when it is a female plant.
