No smell, again, second grow.

fox farms soils need amendments to properly feed a marijuana plant to the end in my experience. If all other controls are spot on you know its just a starving plant. If I pour a few cups of organicare into the flowering fox farm soil it finishes nicely. but so does pro mix done the same at less cost.

The first strain was an expirement, the plant grew really big, but didn't smell unless you squeezed or broke open the bud. In veg it reeked, but during the flower stage nothing unless you rubbed the stem or smelled it really close up. Maybe I am expecting too much, this early.
The last strain smelled like lemon, and fruity pebbles, it smoked ok. I ditched it, because I smoked every bit of it, which took a year. I put it back in veg and pulled one more smaller yield. It was big as hell, and looked like an octopus. I pulled the seeds from a baggy, so I just tossed it up to being poor genetics.
I am using Vipar Spectra's but about to do a huge upgrade. I don't think it is the light though, other than maybe not enough UVB, but that is just me guessing.
I read and read, watch industry leading videos etc ok turpines, and came across something today that said it might be the region in which I am growing. Again though, I have no clue.
I am giving them 1tsp epsom, humboldt crystal burst, humboldt snow storm, Advanced G,B,M(yeah I got ripped off, chitosan, hydroguard, raw honey, molasses, sea weed extract, ro water.
My climate is really humid in my region, but the room stays at 50%.
I am using humboldt blue dream genetics. She doesn't grow large but bushy, which is unusual for bd I am told..
The OG is from royal queen, and it is a beast as far as how fast it grows 7ft easily after flower stretch.
You are not understanding. It may never smell until you chop it, jar it and then let it cure.

Get hold of a cheese strain and see if it smells. If it does then you know it's just genetics.

My bud normally smells pretty decent since I got familiar with controlling RH to produce a nice slow cure. Light has something to do with it also. I feel that the best grow I did was under HPS.

I aso use terpinator. It gives me piece of mind.

Update:
I stopped giving it the advanced nutes. Been giving it a blend of epsom, honey, molasses, ro, crystal burst, snow storm ultra. Smells better, and within 2-3 days, I have more crystals than ever, and its starting to reek more. I also installed a new light.
I did start chitosan about a week ago also. Went in lastnight and found several branches hanging over from weight. Check this out. 43 days in flower.

I really wouldn't sweat it!
I like the avatar - tried the new version?

Mmm, "sweat"....reminds me I have to get some fresh corn on the cob...Need the husks for some cob curing.....
I have, I don't have the rig to run the new one, like I would like to. Keep mainly light laptops these days, because they are easy to transport.
Been playing a lot of war robots from the android store, I bought one of those android tv boxes and game controller, and have gotten most of my friends playing with me. The game kicks ass, and its online multi player teams, lots of customization. Come check it out, my handle is 0GR3.

UPDATE:
Went to check on them tonight and the blue dream was more than half way bent over on one side. Scary. I hope it didn't damage any roots, and kill the plant,or stress too bad. One of the tops got pressed against the tent and top is a bit flat. The plant is looking better than ever though. Crazy excited. Day 44. The smell has improved, .
Too many variable changes to tell why such a fast change.
Chitosan, new lights, quantum + cob and UVB lighting, quit using the advanced GBM first lineup which has a little nitrogen.
Or the half gallon cocktail of raw honey, molasses, epsom, humboldt cb, & ss ultra, chitosan.

Plants that I've grown under blurple LEDs never had much of a smell, even after cure they were lacking compared to their CMH grown siblings. Chitosan kills bacteria from the grow medium, I wouldn't use it with soil.

I suspect that the problem is with drying, post-harvest. Aim for a more even dry, with buds and leaves drying at near similar rates, and you might be surprised with results. Make sure a fan isn't blowing directly onto your buds as they dry, keep air movement hardly noticeable. You're probably wasting time chasing molasses, honey and such. I've had my most dank plants by feeding relatively light and early in flowering and water only the rest of the way, in a simple FFOF and dolomite lime medium. Sometimes less is more ;-)

My blueberry og x grand daddy purple that smells like ripe watermelon, using abovementioned techniques:

Since my last post I have done a lot of reading. I am sure it was my curing, that messed up the first grow. I over analyze shit too much, but this is a learning process. I am quite pleased how far I have come on just my second grow. Everything is coming together, and my buds are big fat and beautiful, and smells better than ever. This forum has really helped me progress really fast. Once I replaced those damn blurples, and removed all nitrogen(advanced nutriients bottom 3 tier which recommends through the whole flower process) everything seemed to pop. Dense, giant, thickness in those buds.

Now I am looking towards the dry/cure. Not sure if I am going to flush the plants. I am almost at that two week mark on the BD. Quit feeding the epsom salt cause I heard sulfur gives you a nasty taste and burns black ask. I wish I knew if this is true or not, but this is the only smoke I have, so not pushing it. Now shes only getting a rotation of honey water/molasses, and crystal burst/snow storm ultra. This is exciting times. I haven't smoked in weeks and my anxiety+ptsd is kicking my ass. My epen extract guy got fired.

Next grow I might use a silicate nute of some type. I like trying to use all natural cheap nutes. ttystikk has a great thread on nutes which helped me a lot. Thanks bro. :)

Thanks to all who participated here. I will post some pics soon.

bro did your first pair of leaves starts to die at day 25 ? is this normal??
I don't even remember, I grew the BD for like 3 1/2 months. As I was using her bottom for clones. Shes a short bush and wouldn't stretch, but man, does she make some large heavy buds. I am keeping this pheno, she smells like a blue berry skunk now.

If you have blurple lights, sell them asap and get something around 3000-3500K. Try to mimic warm sunlight. Blurple in my opinion is a waste of time, and does weird shit, IMO.

I VEG under a bridglux bright white single cob that I built for 40 bucks minus the computer heatsink I mounted it to.

My OG kush has candy stripes all over the main stem and it keeps getting a darker red. No sign of purp yet, but hoping. Typical pine smell, although I do smell fruity smells coming from the top nugs. I've never smoked OG kush, so hope I am in for a treat and it lives up to the hype.

Not only smell, but tricome production seems to be limited to the bud, and just limited. Since I switched, shit has blown up. I think Blurple is fucking hype. Same as the emerson effect. I have had the best response from warm white(3000-3500Kelvin) in flower. White in veg.

That.

Certain strains smell differently. The White Widow I grow has so little odor that my Rosemary plant completely obliterates it.

Until it's cured up and you crack open a jar and it punches your lights out.

That's what I want. The drying process worries me, the curing process should be simple with bovedas.

Drying is easy. Don't dry the entire plant as a whole. Trim the individual stalks and hang them and let them dry. At most, it's 5 days. Then jar it up and burp it from time to time.

Hanging a whole plant is for bulk production, not quality control production. There's a really good thread about it right here: https://www.rollitup.org/t/harvest-time-a-tutorial.28072/

I've done it that way every time and never had anything but great results.
