Ok, so heard on the radio this morning, a law (San Francisco I think?) passed that said any fast food chain wanting to sell toys with their meals, the meal had to consist of a serving of fruits/veggies, and be under a certain total calorie amount...
I gotta say, I'm kinda on the fence on this one...
On one hand, you've now got every family in America always on the go...no more family dinner's, everyone's texting and connecting and doing their own things at younger ages. So, of course, fast food is the most convenient for today's average family...and there's nothing wrong with that. But then there's the overindulgers (and I mean to the point of abuse lol) who will shove it down their kids gullet almost immediately after receiving a concern from the school about their childs health due to obesity...so, the gov't feels the need to take matters in their own hands and protect the unhealthy....sure, whatever.
But on the other side...are the people who don't overindulge, who sometimes use the happy meal as a small reward for their kids, or at least a meal in small doses but still keep them active and under triple digit masses by age 9. Not to mention, FREE ENTERPRISE.
Why is it the last few years (or couple decades, anyway) that more and more people have gotten THEIR rights while simultaneously infringing on the rights of others?
What do you all think...is this new law for the greater good? Or more control than the gov't needs to have?
