I'd like to say that a vast majority of the wrong in the world in man-made. But we have choices and responsibilities and a weak person in power can fuck up a lot of shit.

Hey pada, dont be mad, but I lied :p I have read many of the previous threads you had and was impressed with the way you are able to articulate your answers and agreed with pretty much everything. I was brought up in a Christian family and went to a Christian school but have been an atheist since I can pretty much remember, the idea of God just never worked for me, even when I was young and did not understand any of the scientific evidence against him/her/it, God just never made sense to me. I was simply playing devils advocate (ironic cause I was supporting God, haha) and arguing in his favour to see how you answered some of the tougher questions my religious friends ask me when they find out im a non beleiver. I mean I have no trouble countering the arguments for God's existence you hear everyday, but some of my buddies are a little smarter than that and try to incorporate science in their arguments, just about every question in my posts is something ive heard from one of my Christian friends. You have answered pretty much every decent argument theyve used against me in 2 posts, Bravo. And dont get me wrong I learned a lot that I didnt know from your answers too, I just thought this would be a more fun way ask you the questions. It seems like most people on this forum agree with you so I knew Id get a good anserw if I disagreed haha. Thanks for the help, sorry for the lie :p

My suggestion, don't attempt to answer someone presenting anything as science if you don't quite understand the science yourself. Many times, theists will attempt to point to current science to supposedly support their claim that science in some way supports the existence of a god. Some will go as far as to say that it actually is evidence for a god. All of this is of course nonsense. Science is necessarily agnostic when it comes to anything about a god. Science is a limited way of knowing. We limit ourselves to natural causes because we test our ideas against the natural world. The way we test a hypothesis to hold constant certain variables. If a god can do anything it wants, you cannot hold his/it's actions constant. Any outcome we get is compatible with the actions of an omnipotent or supernatural cause, therefore these things are untestable.

Most of the time, they will distort what science actually claims. Just about every time I see these types of arguments, they are merely straw men.
