Noob Attempting Hydro. Need advice!

If you pour straight 50% H2O2 on top of your pump when you are flooding a table the plants will all immediately wilt. Always dose your tank when the pump is off so it dilutes and your roots are not getting hit with straight H2O2. When you see and feel what it does to your skin you will see what I mean lol
Ah yeah good point, and noted.

I'm always mindful of that when adding bleach also - which is what I'm currently using until I can get some HP

Did you say how far along you were? I mean everyone is talking about root lock, but man without a PH and PPM, you could easily been way over feeding with a ridiculous PH. With hydro start with 1/4 to 1/2 strength nutes and get yourself some pens. Most of us run 70* water, I add hydroguard and it’s been great.

If you bought a bucket with a netpot lid, I would assume its a 5 gallon bucket, that only holds 3 or so gallons of water up to just below the netpot. Sure it will work fine for awhile, with a smaller plant. But after a month and she gets bigger, she'll eat, drink, and even expel waste back into the water so fast that that small capacity cant keep stabilized. Your EC and ph will fluctuate all over the place and youll be dealing with lockouts and other problems like the roots drying out. Eventually can lead to root rot. i bet if you cut open the stalk you would find a blackish vein like streak going up the middle of it, starting from the roots.

What you need is a larger container for a single plant. Hopefully at least a 20 gallon tote that holds 4-5 times as much solution as a bucket. The more solution you can hold the more it will stay buffered and more you'll be able to keep control over all the parameters.

A plant after a month of growth in a single 5 gal bucket will need res changes practically every day especially in flower, if not twice a day.

Yeah, I'm concerned that the bucket may be too small. I'm torn. As the plant that I was trying to grow, in this post, died and I'm currently loosing a seedling, I'm really considering going back to soil. But, I REALLY want to learn hydro, just for the science-y-ness of it all. lol.

Mines in a 5gal bucket. He’s right, but I add water and nutes every 2 days. I enjoy it actually and I can be exact. I agree though about more water. I used hydroguard and never had a issue with roots. Knock on wood.

I'm in Canada, but I will look it up in case it can be bought or shipped up here.

Haven't seen a Hempy bucket before, but it looks interesting.
