Noob has a simple question

Hey, just received my 70w hps security light, and the bulb has a white coating on it, and i didnt know whether this coating would stop it doing its job.

it should be ok for vegging, but 70w would only be good for cloning or just a week or two vwgging. i have a 250hps and even that isnt brite enuf really. you need a 250 or 400 hps with ballast, if you want to grow any real plants.
