Do i need to make drainage holes in a smart pot or no?!
Thank you so much.. I thought i didnt need to but I honestly was not sure youre A god sentNo you do not. the benefit of the smart pots/fabric pots is the drainage/ aeration to the roots when you water you will see that water comes out on all sides. It also will not get rootbound as long as you use a big enough pot to begin with.
I 2nd this note as well Happy growing my friendJust water slowly in two goes rather than one so you ensure water goes through all the medium rather than piss out the sides.
From my understanding watering to quickly is also a issue correct?Just water slowly in two goes rather than one so you ensure water goes through all the medium rather than piss out the sides.
Seems reasonable to me I usually water my 3 gallons with approx 3/4 a gallon or a lil shy. Read the plant as well. If the leaves start to droop or look full of water ease up a bit/ vice versaFrom my understanding watering to quickly is also a issue correct?
I'm using a 10 gallon smart pot. I've been giving it 2 gallons of water each time. But I've been waiting for it to dry up pretty well.
Does 2 gallons sound right for a 10 gallon fabric pot?
Tbh I have never seen a overwatering issue with my plants.Seems reasonable to me I usually water my 3 gallons with approx 3/4 a gallon or a lil shy. Read the plant as well. If the leaves start to droop or look full of water ease up a bit/ vice versa
