Noob needs help. 400w or 600w hps?

First off i have to say thank you to everyone that posts. This site has helped me so much. I have one question though i have a flowering box 4h x 4l x 20"d. Should i get a 400w or 600w hps?

Always go big to grow big with lights and air handling. An area that size could easily utilize a 1000 watt so 600 is the obvious choice.

hmmm.... yeah you might be right. I'm using fox farm ocean forest and for nutes im using fox farm trio. I want to try and do sog. I don't really like big plants.

Get a Lumatek 600W dimmable ballast.

They are quality. You can switch to various different settings.

EDIT:

1KW in a 4x4ft room? ... Thats called an oven.

Sweet I was going to get the cool tube set up from ebay but i didn't know what watts to go with. i'll be sure to get a inline fan that has 400+ cfm. I saw one on ebay that comes with a filter. Thanks for the advice I appreciate it!

not enough height for a 600 or a 1k. aircooled 400 or maybe a aircooled 600 with a kick ass fan.

Problem is pots and lights use up two ft. I'm still worried about your heat issues. Sog huh..for the height control.

Only 4' high? I'd go 400w. You'll still have height issues with whatever you choose. You're going to have to keep those plants super short.

I'm worried about heat too but i wont know till i order the light :(. I wanna do a bunch of little plants. Take clones and put theme straight to 12/12.

If money isn't an issue, you should buy another tent for flowering, and use current tent for
mother, and clones too. 400 for veg, x2 600's for flower.
