NOOB needs help with led

Hi I'm doing my first grow and I'm doing it with led lights. My setup is 5x9 gorilla grow tent With a 7 foot ceiling I'm doing a DWC with 12 plants.

I want to do led lights but I'm really confused I've done some research but can't find the answers to my question.

I guess my biggest question is can I just get by using one color spectrum.

I was going to invest in some Apache Tech lights and I was going get all white LEDs.
I'm just wondering if I can get by using all white LEDs for veg and flowering.
I heard that white led lights have a broad range of spectrum and are good for growing but I'm not sure sorry for the NOOB question

I would think that Apache's all white panel will get the job done in both veg and flowering. If I'm remembering correctly, Tags said he used the red/blue, red/white and all white in a grow together and they all yielded the same for the most part.

Apache uses Japanese Nichia LEDs, one of the top LED makers worldwide.

The all white Apache's will do just fine through both cycles.
Other LED companies are moving towards all white spectrums too, like Area 51, for example.

If you do get the Apache's, get in touch with member tags420, he's our resident Apache expert.
He can give you a discount code to use when you purchase your panels and save some serious money.
Here's a link to his grow journal using the Apache's, https://www.rollitup.org/led-other-lighting/676858-tags-high-efficiency-lighting-garden.html

Good luck with your grow

Hi, Perge. Yes, you can get by using Apache Tech's all white spectrum for both veg and flower. However, I would recommend choosing the white enhanced with red, specifically the WR2 (3:2) ratio. This spectrum will veg great, but will give you better results in flower over the all white. They made the red enhanced ratio for this reason. You should see increases in flower size and in amounts of essential oils. This is the recommendation that was given to me by Apache and I'm pretty sure Tags/Greengenes would agree as well.

Keep in mind that LED units typically don't cover large areas. 5x9 will take several panels of whatever brand you choose.

Like everyone has said the white will work, and the newer white definatley will do better than the old. But the W3:R2(the R2) is the best and basically suffers no performance in veg. I would recommend the W4:R1(the R1) before the all white. The R1 is a very balanced spectrum. In crops other than cannabis, it is the spectrum of choice. But for flowering and cannabis, the R2 does show better results. The R2 was the one that also tested highest in THC. With good led spectrums the plant has what ever it needs and basically takes what it needs. So if it is a little red heavy(like the R2) but still has enough blue the plants just don't use the extra red till they need it. Apache's white is a little cooler than other companies, and so it still has enough blue to do great all around even with the R2 red dom panel.
