the first thing you should do is stop telling people where you live.:peace:
Dobbs town is not a real place so i wouldn't worry to much about it.

As stated by someone else earlier, dobbs town isn't real, its the mythical home of Jr. "Bob" Dobbs, for lack of a better word, GOD of the subgenius. As for the header of the posting, North Central Florida contains quite a few people, location is fairly relevant when it comes to growing and obtaining goods. However, I use proxy's so my ip probably comes from somewhere in Russia.

However, that's not to say you don't have a vary valid point with the laws of today. Disclosing location can easily come at a substantial cost.

Yeah it's not likely to get you in trouble but there's no to gain from it then why risk at all, it was a good idea to start growing indoors shouldn't be near as muggy.

Checked on the plants when they woke up, no sprouting from either of the seeds yet. Lady looks good with more growth on the top, takin' it easy but seems good.

The shot of the room is after redoing it in mylar and making a few changes. I'm also still building the scrubber and the new light fixture that I can move as the plant gets bigger. Right now its still 3x100w (23w) CFLs and air coming through using intake and exhaust fans.

...and let me just say, it was a royal bitch to get all that tinfoil out of there, I put it up waaaaaay too good. Was worth it though.

What kind of MG Soil are you using? I used MG Moisture Control and it worked quite well, i really had no problems with it and i'm fairly new to growing. Also i'm loving the setup, i'm a big fan of simple and easy. :-P Your sprouted plant looks good, i'm loving the color of it. Real evergreen looking. Keep up the good work!

DaCDaC: As for your lighting, you could always go to your nearest arts and craft store and buy some velcrow strips and simply velcrow your powerstrip to the roof or wherever you wish to hang it.

Right now Im just wondering about a material to hang it with. I dont want rope or twine or yarn. Those arint good near an open socket! lol!

I have fishing string on there now but its slippery and hard to tie down..

Thankfully I have a master electrician in my family (who also smokes!) and is helping me with the electrical design. Originally I was going to use a wood board, mount lights underneath and a power strip on top being held up by twine or wire but I got a new design idea.

Instead of wood, I'm going to use a hollow plastic board I found, its pretty stable and will allow me to mount the ceramic fixtures to, its also made for electrical applications, which is a bonus. The outlet on top will be GFCI, the power cable will go to GFCI first, then to lights, just incase since I'm dealing with plants and moisture. It'll be held up by chains from hooks above, when I want to raise and lower, I just move the links.

I'll also have a desk lamp with a movable arm for better light placement in there.

Also, I've had my Kill-a-watt connected, all told I use about 130 or so watts in the current config. Pretty neat little device those kill-a-watts are.

Enjoy the pic, feel free to use/improve on my lighting design.

Edit: keep in mind, due to size constraints the CFLs won't be in the exact config as outlined in the pic, they'll actually go side to side not front to back like in the image.

Soil mix is 100% MG Seed Starter potting soil in the sprouting plant, 30/70 mix of MG Seed Starter and MG Pearlite in one of the pots and 40/60 mix of the same in another pot. Seeds haven't sprouted yet but I just put them in a few days ago.

My grow room is a little too hot though, its around 90 degrees or so w/light and around 85 without, which isn't good. I have a window A/C unit I've been putting off installing (its a real bitch with the type of windows I have) but I'm going to take the plunge and do it tonight. I have a feeling the heat is or will be stunting growth.

Few questions as well, what is recommended for adding co2? I seem to remember something about using Seltzer Water. Also, I have a cam that does ir for night-vision, would this be harmful during the plant's beauty sleep? Does ir light effect plants? I imagine so but don't know to what degree.

a co2 tank and regulator or generater(propane burner) are the best. the carbonated water and yeast and sugar mixes only give off VERY small amounts of co2 and it is uncontrolled and unregulated. you will end up spending WAY more then what you get in return. your probaly better off not adding co2 or just breathing in your room

Yea I think I'm gonna scrub the CO2 idea, I'm not growing enough to throw in a CO2 system and don't feel like mucking around with various mixes. My puppy lives in the other part of the garage and generates enough CO2 and gasses for the plants in the next room. ;P

Got the A/C installed, much better temps last night, 'round 85 w/lights on and 75 w/lights off. Babies needed water too when I checked, almost bone dry (probably from the heat that was in there) so I watered them a added some humidity to the room.

Not much as far as news, added a fourth light and still haven't completed the light fixture or exhaust yet. Figure I'll do it later this week. Did a new germination since I let the last towel dry (bad area) and didn't get any pop. This time I got a better location.

As for the pics, nothing popping outta the two seeds yet, plant bent towards one of the lights after I moved her last night. I moved her back around where she can get all the light she wants.

I probably won't update pics for a few days until something exciting happens.

they're looking good HHG, :)

and MT, you can buy mylar very cheap at walmart, go into the sporting goods section, and ask themfor the emergency silver blankets, they'll know what your talking about, they are mylar blankets basically. or really just a big sheet of mylar and called a blanket lol. and it only costs $1.88 for a big sheet of it, so you might only need one depending on the size of your box and how often you think you'll mess up :)

EDIT: and MT i just saw your post count :) welcome to RIU! :-P
