After experiencing a pretty dismal rookie grow season last year I've realized I need more knowledge from experienced growers, I've done a far amount of research in the past weeks but I still have some questions that I was unable to find a clear answer and solution to, I'm very to cultivation so I would appreciate any tips/additional information that may be helpful.
I'm in New York at around 43N latitude, conditions are high humidity (70-95%) , temperature early in the season (late April - May is high 50s - 60s) , June - august (high 70s, 80s most days, 90s here and there) once sept hits , temp will steadily drop until frost dates around beginning to mid October.
Major problems I experienced last year:
1) nitrogen deficiency - leaves where turning yellow, dying and falling off (believe this is N-deff?)
2) mold due to humidity
3) bugs / spiders eating holes in leaves
**4) EXTREMELY slow grow rates, any specific nutrients or things I should do to assist this would be ideal
another thing is I am indecisive about a good strain for my area, strains I have contemplated this year are: afghan strains, northern lights, OG (all sativa dominates , 90-10 / 80-20
-by my research these are some hardy strains when it comes to mold/pest resistance, correct or incorrect? What strain would you suggest
Open to any help, suggestions - Lets not beat around the bush , I know I'm a amateur don't need you to tell me that, willing to listen to anything a experienced grower has to say
Links to articles or websites are also appreciated, thanks
-Chris
