yea i think your lights are a little too high if u can lower them with out making it too hot i would. use the back of your hand as a guide. wen it gets uncomfortably hot for your hand your plants feel the same way. i try to keep mine 20inches at the most from the top of canopy
Just lowered them, will submit a few pictures in a bit. Just woke up.

Here are some pics of day 24, got the 400w MH lowered. Kinda scared me at first when we turned the light on, it was weaker looking than the CFLs lol, gave about 4 minutes and we were like "Damn!". Some bright light lol.

My question is, were on day 24 of veg, about 20 REAL days of veg, the other 4 days (Guessing) were still sprouts.

How much longer do you think I should veg for? I want to get the most out of them and I am not really that impatient, I would rather wait a bit longer and get x amount more yield. Just wondering what you think. Input is GREATLY appreciated, just don't have to be a dick about it. :P

Some pictures. :)

They ARE quite bushy too, so I am tying to get them a bit taller by keeping the light just a tad bit higher for a few days.

Do you plan on leaving them in that tote for the duration? If so, I'd start flowering right away. I'd rethink your idea of raising the light to make them taller, they will stretch more than you think when flowering starts. You want them to be as compact and dense as possible right now.

You say I should start flowering soon? Its only day 24 veg. Isn't that a little soon? What would you ballpark my yield at? Anyone else think flowering soon is a good idea?

And we are quite sure on changing up the 'tote' a bit. Like the way it worked so far, but we are limited on space with it.

I said it depends on whether you plan to leave them as they are in that container. If you do, then they will be very crowded, which is why I said what I did. If you plan to move them to their own individual buckets/whatever, then by all means keep vegging them. Flowering now, they could yield anywhere between 1-2oz ea.

And crowding them up could cause what results? This is my first time around, not really sure what to do man, they are staying in the tote, no where else to move them, but.. Don't want to kill them by veging for longer.. :-|

Im between....

Welp, better start flowering now then. They'll roughly double to triple their size by the time they're finished, so that should give you an idea of what happens when they get too crowded. Imagine if you vegged for another 2+weeks, they'll be almost twice their current size, then double or triple that size is what you'd have when finished. If they're too crowded air can't flow around them properly, bud sites don't get light, and they're generally poor plants.

Flower them now, veging them longer is a waste of time because there is no more space for the buds to go, make sure to make some clones for your next go around

It's more than just a waste of time, it would be detrimental to the plants' overall health.

Hey WNL

Sexy lookin plants. ;)

Ya i would flower now too. Its funny. I have a very similar hydro grow method (dwc) and my first time growin bud (6 months ago, so I'm a newbie too) I grew NL.
And my grow tent is only 5 feet tall, and all the plants grew to the top. So keep in mind space considerations of your grow room.

And I agree with what wolverine said about veggin your plants too long and how that'll give you unhealthy plants. Cuz the lower fan leaves won't get any light and will die off.

But have you thought about addding those cfl's back into the grow room, but place them mid way up the plant to give light to the lower branches. That's what I'm planning to do on my current grow.

Just some ideas buddy. check out my grow journal that I just started too. we have very similar setups. Good luck bro

dude u couldve vegged for a little longer vegging for extended periods of time wont kill the plant ( mother plants are great proof of this) bigger plants just require more everything and after a point its not worth the effort.. but u would have had to set up some kind of way to manage the the lighting (LST, SCROG, etc....) if not the bigger upper leaves would keep light from reaching the bottom which would eventual kill or stunt lower branches...... and when to flower and yeild depends a lot on your set up your experience and the strain. if u put a plant under optimum conditions (this is the experience factor) it will grow a hell of a lot faster than one placed in an environment with some thing missing or something thats wrong....example. when i went from outside to in, i fucked up my dwc. my water level was too high. the plant grew but but after a month it was like 7 inches. once i got better at it i planted another one and it grew almost 2 feet in a month

Got up an hour before the lights came on and put in the HPS bulb and switched the lighting timer to 12/12. Really didn't want to flower this early, but its a learning experience. I appreciate all input, everyone has been very helpful so far and there is still a bit to go. Will throw some pictures up before work.

Ok, so we decided to start flowering quite a bit earlier than planned, but with help of some members and some advice, we decided it was probably in our best interest to start flowering now and suffer from less of a yield. Here are some pictures of whats going on, still hoping to get about 2 maybe more Oz per plants, but who knows, its a learning experience for us. Gotta work soon, so I can't go into too much detail, but any suggestions on how long we should flower for? I was thinking about 40 days. I know its goes more by look than actual day count, but how long would you guess were looking at?

Thanks again for ALL The polite help everyone has offered!!
