Northern light's week one, first grow, advice needed

Hello there, i planted these northern light seeds from royal queen seeds 7 day's ago and this is my progress, the one plant grew taller and larger then the others and the leafs started to wilt, the other in the corner grew slower and the leafs started to wrinkle. I foolishly wasn't monitoring temps for the first 5 days and when i finally picked the thermometer up the temps were at 40 degrees and humidity was 20%. ( i know I'm an idiot) so i went out and bought a humidifier and i opened the doors to my grow tent. The humidity is now at 70% and temps hovering around 30. Any advice on how to get any cooler? And are they only suffering from heat stress? Or any other problems? I'm using a 1000w Super hps light with an air cooled hood and a glass cover. My fan is a 6" inline fan 435 CFM and i have a carbon air filter hooked up, all running through insulated ducting and My tent is 5×5×7. Also my ballast is magnetic but it's outside the tent.

Thats way to much light and heat for such young plants

I'd be putting them under a couple of cfl's until bigger,

and winter has set in ...cooler temps then,, I heard..?

Okay thanks. I went and lowered the setting on the ballast to 700w for now till i figure out another lighting set up that should be a bit of relief for them

CFL like the man said before. Those are far too young to even be under a dimmed 400-watt.

Dude!!!! Those are seedlings! They need like a watt of light right now. Hps over 250 is charring them.

I seed using a 48 watt LED light, works great. GIJonas - Techno Viking ! Nice...

Huh okay okay good to know. So if i turn it right down to the lowest setting. At what point can they handle the higher intensity light ?

I burn a 1000 over my seedlings almost every time.
Sure, I burnt a couple but was always my fault. Just had the light too close.

Run an intake bringing cool air in and it will help cool your area.
My temps don't exceed 80f

I have one running i think the air it's pulling in is a little warm tho so might not be helping. So you're saying you put the seedlings under 1000w most the time and they still turn out alright? Cuz that be a sigh of relief I was thinkin i stressed the hell out of them and they weren't going to grow strong

You may have stressed them with the heat. If you can get the temps down the 1000 is fine to use. Keeps them short and fat.

Awesome news that's a nice healthy lookin plant too. Would be totally pleased if mine turn out like that, well then i have the ballast turned down to 400 now. I'll leave it for a day or two while i think of what to do with the heat then maybe turn it back up since it'll be fine. Currently the tent door's are wide open but come a month or two that will be very impractical

Many don't apply logo when it comes to lighting. The suns drops 10000 lumens per sq ft. If they can survive that then they can survive in an indoor environment of the same. The heat is your main concern. Temps between 78-86 degree Fahrenheit is optimum. So shoot for that. You can use cfls or fluorescents to keep temps and power usage down if you like but you really don't have to. Another way is raising that 1000 watter up higher than the normal height to keep from burning the tops.
