Northern Lights XTRM Diagnosis

Hey all,

I've been through a variety of diagnosis threads/posts, and I'm still (being a n00b) unable to diagnose the issue with my plant.

Here's the details:

Running my first indoor micro grow right now. I've run into an issue with one of my girls but I'm not sure what's up. Hoping you can help.

Here's my environment:

  • Grow space: 4'x4'x7' mylar tent
  • Strain: Northern Lights XTRM (from Amsterdam Marijuana Seeds)
  • Lights: Area 51 W90 LEDs (95 watt draw; 1 per plant @ 12")
  • Medium: Top-fed DWC (5 gallon buckets, 6" net pots, hydroton, each bucket driven by an air pump powering an air stone and an airlift drip ring)
  • Nutrients: General Hydroponics Trio (Micro/Gro/Bloom) + CaliMagic
  • Water: RO, **PH** 5.6, **PPM** 705, **Temp** 72-78F, **Level** currently about 1" below net pot
  • Air: **Temp** 70-80F, **RH** 30-45%
  • Progress: Seeds went into Rapid Rooters on 11/8. Sprouted on 11/10. Moved from germination station to buckets on 11/13.

The two ladies are growing side by side in virtually identical environments (aside from minor PH/PPM fluctuations). Roots have emerged from the netpot and look white and healthy on both plants.

Here's the healthy one (I think): http://i.imgur.com/6bnyoXb.jpg

Here's the weird one (note that the second set of true leaves is kind of twisting as well):

Any help would be much appreciated. The purple tint on the bottom of the leaves makes me think phosphorous deficiency, but then the slight yellowing along the veins makes me think magnesium deficiency (as does the lime green color of the new growth). However, I have *no* idea what's up with the deformity/drooping of the lower leaf.

Help? Thanks in advance!

Cold temps will make the underside of the leave become purple. They're too young for deficiency. My advice: don't get your panties in a twist

Interesting. I don't *think* my temp has ever dropped below 70F, and the range I was looking for was 65F-80F. In fact, I was reaching temps around ~80F so I removed my 150W (x2) CFLs, moved my air pumps outside of the tent, and added more air movement and ventilation.

I'll just keep an eye on it over the next week. Doing a res change tomorrow so maybe a flush and a new batch of nutrients will clear it up. Perhaps this strain just wants a higher temperature than I had planned.

Thanks for your help!
