Not Growing Again.

Attempt #1 : Bagseed, grew perfectly, healthy strong, and turned male.


Attempt #2 : Bagseed again, different strain, same exact thing,male fully grown.

Attempt #4 : Ordered seeds from attitude, FEMINIZED, autoflowerer, sprouted perfectly. Dies after about an inch fromt he rockwool.


Tis repeated 3 additional times.



Im done.

Huge waste of money for setup and seeds, not a single bud of output.

you have to play the numbers when using bagseed ... get a plastic tote and put about 12 small bagseed plants in it .... grow them till they reach the top of the tote then cut your lights back to 12/12 . cut out the males as they pop up and you should get between 4 to 8 females or so. If you just do one bean at a time you are running the risk of all your effort turning male .. just start more :- )

but if i did that with bagseeds, wont they go directly into flowering that way and wont be able to change it back to veg?

i just wanna know why my feminized seeds are dying instantly, and then when i try to use bagseed, they grow successfully, it doesnt make any sence to me

Sorry to hear about your troubles. The problem with bag seeds is you dont know what you get. I have grow about 20 bag seeds, and out of the 20 I got 4 females and 2 hermies. When I first started I almost killed all of my first grow but after turning to a few people here, and another forum I ended saving them. Are you doing soil or hydro? I 'm an all organic soil grower, Just soil, and nutes (Earth Juice). I prefer soil because it doesnt demand as much time, which if your like me and have a full time job it can be hard to maintain. If you decide you want to give it another try and would like some help let me know and ill try to help you as much as i can. Its hard getting it started but once you do get started you will have a endless supply of top notch bud. I haven't paid for bud in almost a year, and when I did buy I could NEVER imagine getting the quality that I get grow or the amount of different strains that i have access to.

no offence but that sounds like a bit of user error. if you stress them young they turn male. between all those tries you should have had a girl. plants don't usually just die on their own. Sorry to say but it sounds like user error.

Why in the hell would you at least not grow 3 plants so you would at least have a remote chance of getting a female.I allways pop 5 beans to find 2 or 3 females.My 5 year old sister could grow weed!!!!!!!!

its very possibly user error, actually it has to be, becuase all my fem seeds are dying when they get thier first 2 little leaves, right after that they wilt voer and the stem turnes brown and shrivled, doesnt even look like its able to be recovered, my water it at ph of 5.8ish rockwool cubes are being soaked in ph balanced water over night or 2 nights sometimes, 85 watt cfl's about 3 inches away, 5 gallon dwc bucket is what im using, and hydroton rocks.

using paper towel method for germing.

germing goes fine, its just getting it passed the sprouting stage is where im messing up somehow.

maybe because im using too much light on it?

should i just use only my veg light rather than both?

im space confined, and all the seeds i have now are fem's i dont have enough space to just drop 5 seeds for germing and hope for the best, gotta do one at a time for now, at least until i get a larger house

whats the temp, and humidity? humidity is important when starting I have learned

Not true, the genetics are predetermined. You cannot stress a female into turning full male, it's either male or female. You can however stress a female to the point of turning hermaphoditic. But I do agree, one seed at a time is definitely NOT the way to go. I grow strictly bagseed and over the years I'd say my ratio is about 70/30 female, but I germ usually 10-12 seeds at a time and take extremely good care of them(even though I'm a soil guy using only CFL's). I have read and heard of a lot of problems with "feminised" seeds, from poor germination rates to them actually growing out as males. Proper care and nurturing will turn even the worst bagseed into some incredible smoke.

I've got 5 plants growing,and another ten just sprouted from seed.put the five older plants to flower but not sure what the sex is.I think they're sprouting nuts but not sure.this is my first real grow.sorry for such a newbie question.

Don't blame it all on everything else. IMO, its clear that your not a patient person. It's also fairly clear, that your a complete noob to growing.

If you give up.. you'll surely never ever learn how to grow. So, if your one of those people that gives up on things... you'll never make it anywhere in life.

Anyhow, its your choice rather or not you grow again.. I mean nobody really cares if you grow or not.. (not trying to be a dickhead.. just telling ya how it is).

I've never gotten bad seeds before when I've ordered them. But I also don't use any breeders except TGA and Nirvana. Which is why I always get good viable

seeds.. is because I order from well known and reputable/honest/trustworthy breeders.


Anyhow, its your choice. No sweat off our backs.

go on google and type in "Marijuana Plant Sex" and click Images. That will show you many many diff pics of ID'ing sex

Other good breeders are DNA/Reserva Privada, Sannies, Big Buddha, Sensi, T.H Seeds, and surprisingly I have had ALOT of good luck with Green House (I have heard horrible things about them tho) but other might advise to stay away. But as with anything everybodys different one person like this company, another likes that company,even down to doing things everybodys gonna be diff one will say you must soak seeds before germing others will say just throw under wet paper towel. Its all trial and error you gotta just find your own way.

The breed of seeds i got are from flash, im not actually completely noob at growing, ive done several outdoors grows before that have turned out very nice, this is certainly my first hydropoinc grow with cfl's this is true, but i understand all the basics of growing and how to do so, its just the financial issue, right now im spending 320$ per week on some funk.

Ive spent an additional 3-4 hundo on all the equipment to begin growing with, its just frustrating to have grown 2 huge perfect plants, and then get feminized seeds and have them barely pop out of the top just to lay over dead.


That's whats discouraging me, the fact that ive grown a beautiful crop once before, and only a month or 2 later, get the fem seeds and trying just to piss myself off.

i mean really not just for the expence, i want to be able to grow this at anytime in my life, well.. for the rest of my life as the way i see it, cause i know im not gonna lay my buds to rest.

A clone from an excellent strain right now would make my day.

Dude get you a shit load of schwag seeds, sprout em and kill them every way you can think of. You will probably discover a few new ways while you're at it. space is a bullshit excuse; sprouts dont take up much room at all. Play around. Get your feet wet. Make all your mistakes. Learn from them. Read a book or at least some sticky'd posts!!! You'll dial it in.

Not a bad idea, and i like the way you think.

i dont wanna grow nasty bud though is the only thing, i only want glorious and beautiful garden.

i will at least wanna try my homehgrown haha

you need to move them out of the rockwool. not enough space for roots to grow. you also said you are using ph5.8. pick it up to about 6.5. you also said you are soaking the cubes in water for a day or two, is this with the plant in it? if so you are drowning the plant! they need air in the roots as well!
