Hello everyone, I am not particularly new to growing but the tent thing is somewhat new to me. I hope to give you all the info I can cause without all the info, you can't give me answers. I plan to grow in a perpetual 3 tent system, 1 tent veg feeding the other 2 tents every month. Each tent is 10ft wide x 10ft long x 6'6" tall. In each flower tent is 4, 1k double ended light in sealed DE Boss fixtures. Inline fan is hanging outside blowing through 8 inch ducting through 1 light, then assisted with a booster fan through the 2nd light, then out the side of the tent. In the veg tent is 4, 1k parabolic hoods. In the veg tent is also a 18k btu mini split a/c unit. In the other 2 flower tents is a 12k btu mini split a/c unit. I do not know what to do about venting the tent? I do not want humidity to reach past the 50%, I have had problems in the past where the humidity has jumped all the way to 99% and that is a killer for my plants. My RH is about 30%, and I personally would like it to stay that way. Any help of ventilation would be greatly appreciated.

Nice set up.

Your on a bigger scale than im familier with and the AC should help you with temps seeing your in a uninsulated shed with concrete floor.
Im guessing you will be using the sides of the veg tent for cloning.

Would a humidifier per tent set your mind at ease? Nice to control it, higher in veg lower in flower.

Tent tip. Get inside it and have someone close it up, look for any light leaks.

Please link me to ur journal when ur up and running as the 3 tent thing has always fascinated me.

Hello, the mini split has a dehumidifier option but it does not do enough. I have checked all the tents by standing inside of them and zipping them all up. total blackness. The pole barn is actually all insulated. I have a side small tent for cloning and such. the problem is that the tent humidity is way to high, around the 70-80's when the lights are off. I am at a loss on what to do. I have access to 2 more 8" inline fans but would have to pull them from the other tent. Any ideas? maybe use an 8" inline fan blowing air out of the tent?

O, sorry, it looked like just metal sheet on the back wall and assumed it was an outside wall. Sorry.

Are you venting the expelled air outside or back into the room?

A/C units i believe do increase humidity in the space the pump is in, is the main unit in the tent or outside?

Hello, the air is expelled out to the room. The main unit is hanging above the tents and the barn has its own team and humidity sensor and when it trips it expels the barn in a matter of minutes.

Why so low with the humidity?

Do you know what VPD is?
I do not know what VPD is.
I am trying to keep the humidity low during flowering cause when the lights are off, I get humidity all the way to 99% and the plants can't perspire or breath during that.

Vapor Pressure Deficit

You should give a look into it.

I understand you don't want 99% humidity........but 30% is very low.

30% can have issues in a garden arise just like 99% can.

I will look into it. If i could get my humidity to between 40-50% i would be ecstatic. I could just live with that.

If the am ambient humidity around the tents in the room is high then you will have big problems getting it down. You need to vent the humid dense air right outside.

It's the same with heat.

If.you are doing soil..just think about how much humidity there will be after you water. I run 20-30% humidity, its very dry here. I even water lightly and more frequently so my dehumid can pull enough rh out of the air in 8hrs before I get back. Dry side is better, mold is hard to get rid of...fungus gnats..botrytis. low rh is fine and wont affect them at all.
Tents are a battle of the temps. You are doing good dry running and testing
Also grow rooms are always needing tweaking to get it right
