Started from seed. Nirvanna northern lights. Soil is a high quality organic mix from local nursery. Same soil that seed was started in. I am running 4 23 watt cfl 6500k about 6inches from the top. I have been using straight distilled water. I will check the bag and see.

Blows my theory. I have one of those lights and when its WAY close it kind of bleaches my top.
At least that is what I thought it was but 6in should be fine

Those little lights stack nodes very nicely as you probably know.
I keep mine real high because now I`m keeping Bonsai moms under it
and it can cover a bit more area. You can play around and if it does stretch a bit
just transplant it deeper when the time comes. All I do know is that with multpile plants under it
all eating the same only one did this and it stopped when the light was raised. I think some are more prone than
others, especially when they are little.

What is it with people and using distilled water? Just use tap water. Let it sit out for 24 hours uncapped. Buying water for your plant is nonsense. I think the key for success is to keep it stupid simple. :leaf:

My tap water is very high in ph and sodium. I use to keep aquariums and needed RO water. So I think a few gallons on 99¢ water from the grocery store is wise in my case.

yes, you still need calmag. ro and distilled water have all the minerals taken out. I used ro for three grows. I use tap water now. I just let it sit out for 24 hours. Now, I only have to use calmag on occasion.

the two lower leaves on all my plants are yellowing, but they all look good other wise.Is this normal?IN my veg. garden yellowing is usually a sign of over watering.I've always thought too much is better than not enough, but thats not so with plants,at least the ones I've grown.
