There is some reasrch from some collage that says she can handle high ppm but it will slow her growth without showing you nute burn...no idea where that border is but i guess just dont live on the limit XD

Yes keeping a clean uniform root mass will keep production at peak levels. I trim early and into pre flower and I always get good clean looking roots.

This is my very 1st hydro grow.. maybe DWC would have been a tad easier and wayyy less expensive lol but this is what I got going on... look at this leaf!!!

You can tell where the limit is pretty easily in DWC. The Ph and EC will let you know. If the EC is dropping over a few days, bump it up a bit. If it's going up (drinking more than eating), top off with some fresh water. Try and get it to sit steady over a few days and they are happy as can be.

give the those roots a trim as those roots near the bottom are bound and no longer in taking nutes.

mince you cut them down and get some good root growth you will notice a correction from those deficiencies.

maybe add another air stone or a stronger pump to really help move the water around and get some air in those roots.

Thats why I would endorse root trimming especially if each plant isn’t in its own individual container.

dwc roots are much manageable but all the hydro techniques have their advantages. On my last batches all I ran was coco but one day I’ll go back to dwc. Just getting back in the game took a break for sometime as I focused more on my day trades instead of growing.

Mine looked a similar colour wet from nutes. I swap pots when changing the res so they get to dry out for half an hour. Look much whiter dry than when they are in the res. Maybe leave them out for 20 mins and see how they look

So quick question. If I'm using an 8inch netpot with a 6inch rockwool block with a layer of hydroton on the bottom, should the top of the rockwool feel damp?

They are probably massive !! Like I mentioned above I step away from the grow game for a while to focus on other investments also I had to stop due to my neighbor being 5-0 lol but im getting back in that game just with 1-2 plants just for shits and giggles I miss growing even though I I won’t be able to blaze due to my job.

yeah, it's going to wick up and feel wet. Do you have any algae growth on top of the rockwool? I only use those 1 inch cubes and hydroton for the rest

You can. You can always add drippers over the top to increase consumption. Never a bad idea just keep an eye for mold.

Yep less rock wool the better. I would actually remove it once I established solid roots.

yeah I ran drippers 24/7 for the first 3 weeks on these. Was also worried about the rockwool getting too wet like OP but as long the light isn't getting into the rockwool, it's fine with the amount of roots he's got already

A bit but it's been there awhile. I gave an h2o2 bath in week 2 and it never spread anymore. I just figured it's was that color now

Yea water splashes it from the bottom and evaporation.i never had problems with wet rockwool
Top drip boosts growth first 2 weeks then its usless like normal dwc
