My question is, how long can you keep clones in the rock wool without planting them into soil? Here's what's happenning in my home, got the clones on 4/6. Back home now they're under a lamp & outside some, (terrible busy time of year for my husband, yet he's absolutely adiment(spelling?) about this being his deal) long story short, I can't stand that it's not getting taken care of. So not wanting to totally take over I simply put potting soil in the bottom of the trays & set the clones on top. Now what I thought was that doing this would enable more time in the sun without drowning them so that they get root rot, yet keeping the roots that are exposed from burning & also because I thought they'd be needing the nutrients in the soil. They were looking fine maybe just a little peekish, well anyway it worked as far as getting my hubby to get them in the pots so that was good, but it's always bad for me when I "second guess" the Man! How bad of a thing could my doing that be? Was this just a power struggle thing or did I set the crop up for failure by doing this? Any thoughts to share, anyone?
