Nugbuckets Lab

Hey Nugs and fellow RIU'ers!

I have been spending weeks reading through the RIU forums, gathering as much knowledge as I can. I've found some users on this board that seem to really know what they're talking about, like yourself or Sub, and then I stumbled upon your main-lining thread and it got me super pumped for my first grow! Yes, it'll be my first grow!

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I was hoping you or some others on the board could give me some advice on a couple of things...

My grow space is 10x30 ft with 100amp service, and a window at each end of the room. I plan on using SuperSoil as my grow medium, flowering in 7 gallon pots... and of course main-ling all the way!
I'd like to include a cloning/veg room and a separate flowering room. I'm thinking 600w HPS for flowering and MH for veg.

One of the questions I can't seem to find a good answer on is how far apart should my main-lined plants be from each other if they are in 7 gallon pots?
And how many 7 gallon pots can I adequately fit under 1 600 HPS. (Not looking to cram here, just to get the best results - major donkeys!).

Looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say. Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge - it's been a huge help in getting my first grow underway. I hope to share the results with you all later!

Ah......juice!.......the wappa skirt yielded a 5 day supply.....ziplocks have a 1/2 cup of juice, going into freezer for individual servings, i just take one out every morning:leaf:

Not that I'm any sort of expert here (Some would even call me the annoying little brother of growing) but I would assume that 4 7gal bags would be ideal for a 600... But if you're working with 10x30 you're going to need a lot more than 1 600.

everything sounds good bro...here is the deal with a single unit that lights a square.....you can put 4 plants under it in a square shape, or 1 right in the center......i have pretty good sucess running 4 girls in 7 gal pots, 8- headed mainlines, kept pretty short.....like flipping them when they are spread out good, and about 12-14 inches tall.....

Hello nugs im a nube with 8k 8 inch magnums thinking about doing kens gdp with 30 day veg in 3 gallon and transplanting to 7 gallon pots im using coco how many plants under each light would you reccomend for maximum yield. also all hoods are air cooled and humidity is under control. i want to say its people like you that enhance everyones lives it will comeback 20 times fold. i also noticed you seem to go against the notion of not trimming leaves how can i determine what is the correct amount of leaf so the plant can soak up the light?

I am currently running Ken's GDP, 2 plants / 1000W, each is in a 10 gallon SmartPot and they are very happy. I would recommend 2 plants / light even with your 7 gallons. Should be perfect.

I strip out the entire bottom 1/3 to 1/2 of the plant at 2 weeks flower. This allows them to redirect their energy into productive colas. I don't thin my GDP beyond that until leaves fall off.

thanks hovering whats your veg time,u in coco or soil?

soil [mix4+perlite] for 2 months. will try a switch from perlite to coco soon, all changes are progressive in our garden and take time so I don't fuck shit up.

still working on getting my rootball maximized, that is my current geek... better rootball for better plants.

Hows the noise on the 70?...I only ask because I'm in an apt and all the online reviews say these pumps are extremely loud and hot

i would have to agree i have mine running in a seperate building but its loud in the building. might be a problem for an apt. im sure you could muffle the sound. but 45 lpm is probably ok. i use my 70 when i brew 5 gal batches

Not directed towards me but I hope y'all don't mind if I chime in. Personally for 7 gallon I like (4) in a 4 x 4 space, well trained, short in stature for max penetration. Although I really should have 1000 watters, it does very well with 600's. Like Hovering, I strip the shit out of the bottom of the plant and try to remove any budsites that won't contribute to anything but hash. A friend of mine once told me , lollipop until you feel like you've done way too much and then go back and do some more. I like to do it all the way through veg and through the first cpl weeks of flower. You're not going to hurt the plant, it keeps rolling. After over a year of lollipopping undergrowth I'm finally learning how aggressive I have to be. Or rather, I'm finally willing to spend the time necessary to train and lollipop the plants, which takes time!
