Nute burn or mag def?

I apologize up front for the HPS lighting, it couldn't be avoided. This problem has been present for the last 2 weeks. It's only a moderate problem but I'd still like to clear it up.

  • Sugar Mando Ryder(auto) 600w HPS 20/4.
  • 5gal DWC with dynagrow bloom, protekt, botanicare cal mag, humbolt honey.
  • pH steady at 5.7 +/- 0.1 for the last 3 weeks.
  • RO water, res temps in the 60's

The fan leaves look like they are mildly bleached with the veins and outer edge being darker. This makes me think mag def.
There are dead spots on the fan leaves, mostly towards the middle and bottom. The tips are fine. Once again mag or nute burn.
Newer growth doesn't show symptoms other than being too light of a green imo.

Thanks for reading if you made it this far.

i believe round necrotic spots like that usually indicate a cal/mag deficiency- dont hold me to it, but I would try adding a little more of your calmag suppliment

are all of those planted in seperate containers? because im trying to figure out the pic where it looks like you have a bunch of green plants, then a bunch of yellow what looks like right behind it...in pic number 4 i believe it is.

EDIT: im high, so that may very well be just one plant. just trying to clear this up before i put my 2 cents in lol

i see now that its one plant. i dont believe its nute burn bc usually nute burn works from bottom to top, and urs seems to be yellowing from the opposite...top to bottom. so id put my money on a nute def.

Cal-Mag didn't seem to be the problem. It appears to be getting slightly worse. There's iron in the cal-mag so I think that is ruled out as well. Any other ideas?

Calcium deficient. Whats affected will remain the same or may even get a bit worse. I would back off the Protek a bit and up the CalMag some......then watch to see if you have halted the spread...

edit:and always add your Protek first when mixing your solutions, this is very important. Adding it after you have already added other nutes could possibly cause some precipitation and an actual case of nute lockup.....

Just a follow up. I'm fairly certain it was a cal or mag issue and it has been resolved. The damage that was done continued to progress which is why I thought I hadn't fixed it.
