nute color and checking PH ?

ok so i know i could go get a digital ph meter but i dont have 100 bucks to spare right now. So i use ph drops to check levels but the nutes we all use are colored , green and pink and blue and what ever color the company wants but couldnt these dyes change the color results of the PH drops , how can i avoid these problems

you cant really use the drop test in colored water it doesnt read right, you could get the ph strips or get a cheaper digi ph meter mine was only 40 dolors and worked great

yeah that's the limitation of the drops. when i try to ph my big bloom solution it's like a joke because it's all brown and cloudy. i basically determined that big bloom doesn't really change the ph of my water except to make it slightly more alkaline which is fine for me since my other shit drops the ph of the dirt. if you really can't determine the ph it's best to get a meter. DO NOT get the cheapo 10 dollar probes with the needle meter. i have had 3 and none of them worked right. i never used the strips but they're cheaper than a meter.

I recently had to decide pH meter or TDS meter; I went with TDS. I'm kind of regretting that decision.

^No doubt.lol PH has to be measured by an instrument, while fert doses can be calculated, mathmetically, without any special tools. As long as you know your water is okay, you don't really need a TDS meter. I hardly ever use mine, anymore.

I have a cheapie, too, and it does the job, just fine. I'd go that route, if possible.
