dude, take the three hundred bones it'll take to get that to your door...or your friends....Go to a Wannamakers or Lowes even franks and hobby lobby, with a list of the pricipals of the flood table; drain, pump, res.....https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/22115-diy-flood-drain-table.html....check it out. I love gettin all crafty on this shit, it's a lot of fun and you know your system much better...(incase malfunctions or shit happens) so it's easier to maintain and fix.

P.s. Some people LIKE savin money some people LOVE spending it...just keep YOU in mind and take this as a suggestion

Best of luck,

I understand people wanting to buy kits because some of us (me) just aren't good with our hands. But I have to agree the kits are almost always a major rip-off. I found that I can do a lot and I find ways to get help. You'd be surprised how many people I know who are handy and have tools are now convinced that I am getting into the aquarium hobby :). You just have to think about a very plausible other reason for what you are doing. I, for example, grow aquatic plants in storage totes that then get transplanted into aquariums, lol. I also converted my closet into a recessed computer workstation to house 2 computers, 2 servers and peripherals. It needed a dedicated circuit and part of the ceiling of the closet knocked out so heat could be exhausted. Don't take a chance on letting anyone guess though.

hey guys thanks for the replies. I did actually build myself a 4x4 table and it turned out pretty nice. But I like this system because the tray fits right on top of the res which gives it a height of 18 inches. thats a lot of extra grow space. Also, I was looking online and found a site where you can buy peices and diy. I would like the reservoir and tray which would be about $160, and I have a pump, ebb/flow fittings, etc. I know any system could be duplicated for a lot cheaper, and a lot funner, but I think the whole idea of having the tray sit right on top of the res was pretty cool.

Lowes/Home Depot/Walmart sh.t is just landfill stuffing. The Canadian made Nutraflow table is 1/8" thick and the res is 1/4" thick and said to withstand uv light for a long time. Just bought a set. It's heavy and seemless.
