nutrient flowering question

ive used a couple different a/b products for my grows that works successfully, but at the same time most companies add a bloom booster you can buy,, do these really improve yields if so, is there a cheaper alternative to use for the phosporus boost.. like any dry nutes I could get cheaply and replace buying a gallon of liquid bloom booster?

Check this company out they are a Chem-gro, most products are in bulk even for a small rec grow like 5lbs dry chemicals but I would like to try them at some point. The K-silicate is just like Dyna-gro and you can buy individual chemicals to make your own, if your doing Hydroponics. Once again I have not tried them personally just saw them after I already bought nutes.
This would be my laundry list:

Avoid the overuse of phosphorus. If boosting anything make it potassium, blants use a lot of it in heavy flowering. Phosphorus reacts with calcium and magnesium. Too much phosphorus can lock out cal and mag. You don't want to do that.

ive done side by side tests w/ different nuts and additives... the only additive that actually improoved bud size and helped plants to finish up to 5 days sooner than w/out it was koolbloom powder by gh,, dont waste money on the liquid koolbloom it does nothing,,as for any other bloom booster out ther,,,dont waste your time or money,,as long as your regular nutrients are providing everything ur plants need..

I think potassium sulfate is probably a better source. Plants like the sulfates during flowering
And that alone would leave you without any Po so maybe a half and half mix is in order. Throw in some mag sufate while were at it and yea or you could take a tbsp of mag sufate in a gal of ro water and spray em foliar feed just the mag sulfates. idk

My main point basically is that plants don't need nearly as much P as they do K. Your base nutrients should have enough of both however, plants will use up the K much faster. Therefore, if I were to add anything to the res when topping off or just between changes it would be a little boost of K.

oh well what do u use for base nutes? I am newb so and I have not had good luck so far with nutes and hydro. I tried to grow without media basket and it went south eventually. I tried to grow without Cal+Mag (unbeknownst to me) and it went south eventually. So did my water quality fluctuations in a small water tank and it went south eventually. I was just pointing out some products Ive seen. I absolutely have zero successful exp w/hydro btw.

My point was that when mixed half and half _Po+K 50-30 w/Po-sul 0.0.50 should give you a good 0-25-40 booster then if you add that to your base 10-10-10 at half and half you would end up with 5-17.5-25 which the opie was asking about, btw I think MadFarmer has MOAB also.

Right now, for base nutes, I am using GH flora micro and flora bloom... The lucas formula. I started with the 3 part flora series but have used floranova series, maxi series, twice, and blue planet nutrients. I have no preference to general hydroponics but their products are good and are at a very good price point for the quality. I have thought about technaflora or botanicare but never pulled the trigger on either.
I am in the same boat however, not exactly sure of the best way to supplement potassium and some phosphorus as my plants deplete them from the reservoir.

What did u like best? I heard from someone that alot of folks use the GH stuff. I am using Dyna-Gro Veg for now. My first gro i used MG and soil=killed it. I was not adding Cal+Mag to the MG with the already high nitro. Not an expert, never claimed to be.

Its hard to say which one I like best. The first time using the fora series I was a noob. Then I switched over to floranova series, I like the nova series but it is too expensive for my liking. The Maxi series is about as easy as you can get but I do get lime scale which means calcium and phosphorus are locking up and takes a lot of ph up and ph adjusting. But I still can get good results with the maxi series. Right now I would say either flora series or blue planets 3 part

Thanks for that. Interesting. So a question, if you could make your own chem fertilizer how would you do it?

Get a degree in chemistry lol. Somewhere you could probably find recipes for making you own fertilizer. You just need all the raw minerals/elements ratios etc. The main thing I know is you can't mix calcium with sulfur or phosphorus. You can but in very small amounts. This is why you have 2 and 3 part nutrient solutions and why 1 part nutes usually don't have much cal,mag or sulfur unless they are in powder form. The way elements can react with other elements is what gets it complicated.

the gh nova series is almost pure organic wright?? only difference ive noticed going from the maxi to nova is the taste after cure the weed grown with the nova has a better organic flavor..but w/ maxi ive actually had bigger yields,, not a big difference but about 15-20 gram difference enough to make me go fully to maxi..but i still love the nova too

The maxi series is good stuff, I like using powdered concentrates rather than paying for water. I will probably never rule out the maxi series.
I don't know about floranova being organic, I think its kind of an organic synthetic. Its good, but quite a bit more expensive, especially compared to the maxi series. The main thing with floranova is it being a one part formula that actually has decent macro nutrient numbers.
