Nutrient intolerant plants.

Is it possible to have a nutrient intolerant plant?

I have been battling with an extremely finicky plant! It started good for two weeks as soon as I upped my nutrient concentration from 200, 250, 300, 350, 500 (every two days in between.) It burned intensely at first appearing as though it were some sort of deficiency and then tips and edges went all to shit all most over night. Took two weeks to figure out what the problem was and reverse it. Now a month in I have a month old plant that looks roughly 2.5 weeks old and on the road to recovery.
RECOVERY STRATEGY
0 ppm Ph'd (5.8) distilled water for 48hrs then,
100ppm (5.7) 2 part jungle juice veg / magical for 72 hrs then,
200ppm (5.7) 2 part jungle juice veg / magical for 48 hrs.
Now last night I decided to up my concentration from 200-250 woke up this morning to find my reservoirs TDS count at 255.

So obviously the plant is refusing the solution and just drinking water. I didn't want to burn my plant so I replaced a gallon of solution with just plain Ph'd water (5.7) and brought the concentration down to 240 ppm.

THE REASON FOR THIS POST...
I have experienced and read numerous posts and instructional's which recommend growing in veg at 400 - 600 ppm topping off at nearly a 1000 just before flowering. So why does my 6 node month old plant bitch out after less than 250ppm?

If the plant cannot take over 300 ppm will it be vulnerable to deficiencies because of the lack in concentration? Or does it not matter as long as I monitor my total dissolved solids fluctuations?

It will be weird if I am maxing out my nutrients at 400ppm mid way through flower...

THIS PLANT CANNOT TAKE THE JUICE!:finger:
