Nutrient Product???

I was talking with one of my friends and he said that there is a nutrient slab you can put in your hydro res. so that you never have to adjust ph or add nutrients throughout the entire grow....

He said that this was a commercial grade thing and you could only get it from 2 places. However, he couldn't remember the name of it.

Has anyone heard of such a thing?
