First ever grow and was just curious is there a huge difference in using nutrients vs plain water? I used to use Advanced Nutrients Ph perfect micro grow bloom but the more I’m on forums I’m noticing a lot of outdoor grows use little to no nutrients. Thank you for all of y’alls input. I really appreciate it

I think u mean general hydroponics if u mean that combo. Either way , if you’re growing in soil don’t ask me, I know your soil will have nutrient in it, you’ll likely need something else I couldn’t tell you what, depends what you use. If you’re usi n hydro medium you’ll need to have nutrients for sure tap water will have some small amount of salt and minerals but not what they need to flourish.. anyway, yes , you need food one way or another

No, he means AN 3-part that's been around for well over 20 years. I know because I've been using it for 20 years.

You must be the nOOb's nOOb, nOOb. ;)

If you have a soil rich in all the nutrients a plant needs then all you might need is water but in a soilless or hydro grow you need to feed them.

Here. Go read a book. Cannabis eBook Library.

All grows use nutrients, they just all don't use nutrients that come in bottles. Some people have built super rich soils they have built up over years thru composting and adding soil amendments, some will just top dress amendments every few weeks or apply teas. Plenty of ways to skin the cat.

Advanced ph perfect was a two part, I know cause I also used it. Yeah it does appear to be a 3part now. Definitely hasn’t been 20 years.

I met Big Mike in a bar in Abbotsford when he was putting the company together and that was damn near 30 years ago. The pH Perfect only came out about 10 years ago and the 3-part had it when it first came out. I brought gallon jugs of the 3 part up here in 2001 and that was before the pH Perfect tech so had to check pH tho it never wandered much. The Sensi and Connessuer are 2-part products and I tried them. Not worth the extra money IMO. Much better control of what/when I feed my plants with the 3-part too.

The 3-part, Big Bud and Rhino Skin are all the AN stuff I buy. Any CalMag will do and some epsom salts. Using RO water in DWC or soilless I never have to check pH and the plants grow great.
