Well good on him.......

Too many people in the USA loose there life's due to gun crime. Problem is people love there guns in usa. They don't want to loose them and they shouldn't but they need to do something that could help people. This seems like a good stepping stone, won't reduce crime massively but could stop these guys that are crazy buying a gun and killing multiple people. Could also reduce in the moment gun crime, by this I mean someone who is hell bent on causing injury but is in a mad rage ect.

I remember reading a story where a boy under 13 shot and killed a little girl. Maybe 3-4 years old all because she wouldn't show him her new pet. That family are now devastated and his actions has ruined 2 family life's forever. Of course this check couldn't of helped her but tougher laws could of. Over here guns are locked away, illegal to most and the owner is responsible for the actions of anyone using the gun.

Tougher responsibility laws with guns would be another step that should be made. Sure don't take away guns but make it harder to get them and make the owner responsible for anything that happens to his gun. Most people here are allowed to protect there property with the weapon which is usually a shotgun. It also has to be in a locked cabinet, when not in use.

Too many children/young adults die every year from gun crime.

Just someone from the outside looking in.

We should make it harder for sober people to buy cars.

You know, to stop drunk driving.
strict DUI laws lower drunk driving in every state in which they are employed. why would strict gun control laws be any different? they work in literally every country they are tried in.

are you stating that if people own 1.5 guns instead of 1 gun, we will have less gun homicide? that's pretty stupid of you.

in most other nations, they own close to no guns and have no gun homicide. and less assaults too, like japan and so many others.

also, did you not notice that the sharp decrease in gun homicides corresponds with the brady bill and the assault rifle ban?

you must be very stupid, george.

Again, would making it harder to buy cars for sober people curb drunk driving? No, but we have seen harsher punishment for drunk driving stop the drunks even though anyone can buy a car without a background check. OMG, how the fuck did that happen!? derp derp derp

Same with firearmss, making it harder for a responsible citizen to purchase a firearm isn't gonna do shit. However holding people responsible for their actions or lack of when firearms are involved could have the same effect as the drunk driving laws.

I went to a pool league play off about 15 years ago with a co-worker of mine. We had to meet at a bar out in the sticks south of Reno. When we pulled in the parking lot my co-worker pulled the back seat up and he had an AR-15 (chome, pretty gun) and few Glocks. I said WTF do you need that kind of fire power for? He was an ex marine and said be prepared, you never know when someone will have more fire power. Maybe it's fear, maybe it's a boy scout thing but damn, I've never needed to shoot anyone nor have I ever know a situation that I needed a gun for... except for the pesky racoon that was fighting with my cats.
