they want to build a coke fired power plant near me . (sp) slag byproduct
I've seen them too. I think Shell had some at their first Hydrogen refueling station. It only generates enough power for a very small bit of Hydrogen. Solar is still too expensive and doesn't operate at full capacity on cloudy days. It too has a long way to go, or else we'd all be using it. Wind power has similar problems. There are only certain parts of the country that get enough wind year round to meet a good percentage of our energy needs. Wind farms need maintenance and it too is very expensive. If we make 100% of our electrical power renewable then automatically Hydrogen becomes more appealing. As it stands currently, we still rely on coal fired power for 70-80% of our needs. If you do the math it is more costly to produce a gallon of hydrogen and it dumps more carbon into the air (by way of coal fired plants) than a gallon of diesel or gasoline.i've seen hydrogen generators that are powered by solar panels
..............sorry. I forgot. You and that nasty logic again Doc....
Coal works day OR night. (solar doesn't)
Coal is plentiful...very...and cheap...very.
Coal doesn't slaughter tens of thousands of migrating birds each year (wind does)
Since carbon cannot be linked scientifically to global warming..... what's the real problem? None is the answer.
You should do more research into solar. The energy stored can be used at night or on cloudy days!...Coal works day OR night. (solar doesn't)...
Shittily enough, imports own the solar market.I only agree with what CJ said in the short term. In the long term, solar makes more sense as it starts to pay for itself after a while. Renewable/sustainable energy is where we should start to make back some of this trade deficit....invent and export
Hmmmm so close Cracker with your answer..but the correct answer would have been the sun...In a way you are right because the sun itself does have a nuclear fusion process which man has yet learned to harness or duplicate... the Sun is the source of most of the energy on Earth--the power source for plants, the cause of flows of atmosphere and of water, the source of the warmth which makes life possible. None would exist without it. It also aids in me getting a good amount of vitamin D ( no sun-block needed )The most efficient energy is nuclear.
WOW..I guess you just don't get it.Let me know when you can power a city with sunlight....
It's nuclear.... in the real world.
