It works for Mel Brooks. He's a genius and his racially focused bits are generally hysterical, to me.
But basically saying: "Hey, black people like watermelon. Here's a picture detailing that." or "Hey, white people can't jump. There's a movie about it." just isn't funny to me. Jokes like that are the crutch of the talentless.
Maybe I'm just dumb.

It seems like a moot point to me. Growing up half black myself I always claimed myself as being black without bothering to distinguish. Maybe it's easier for me as I look 100% black.
Also, the term "mixed" is primarily reserved for animal breeds, generally not used when referring to humans.
