Ocean forest for base soil

props to you on your 5 liter build, I run an auto repair shop, i'm a Japanese car guy myself, but I did own a 67 mercury cougar, damn thing was rusting faster than I could restore it though, my project was to put a rb26dett engine from the older skyline in it, more HP, torque, MPG and it's lighter, fuel injected, and I can program it. FUN stuff right there. But I got distracted with my Nissan sr20ve project....200 linear (3 stage cam lift/duration) horsepower in a car that weighs a speck over a metric ton and still gets 29 mpg (as long as I stay off the high cams) Good stuff.
Gotta LOVE the V8 cam idle though, sounds like it's running on 6 cylinders, bubbling through water.
I am not too impressed with the handling on these V8s. I actually thought about getting into some Japanese models. I live in the country and the off road AWD Evo's and WRX Sti have really been catching my eye. I seen videos of WRX's being used as snow plows and pulling trucks out of the snow!
I started with a '71 Charger SE and I wanted to do a 318 to 440 swap... It had so much cancer(rust) that I just got it running and sold it! Brackets were missing and bolts were crumbling in my hands! Since then, I have been doing 86-95 mustangs. I want a 64-69 stang but need to learn how to cure cancer lol!

I need 35 Gal of soil, I guess 3-4 cubic ft. For now, I just ordered 2lbs of a mix that advertised to be a super soil amendment pack. I dont think they had enough ewc and i didnt count the 2lbs. Can someone have a look at this site and tell me what you think?

Buy a box of crab meal, kelp meal, neem meal, fresh ewc and call it a day imo. I'm not sure how much and of what you are getting there? Can anyone translate?

I am making this too hard huh?
Possibly. There are a quite a few ways you could go about this. This is the method I use from Coot and I have had success using. Mix equal parts kelp, crab, neem meal, and then top dress. The amounts will depend on container size, fertility of the soil, cultivar, etc, but I usually add about 4 tablespoons per 10-15 gal container, and I have used as much as 8 with no negative effects. Always go light and then add more as needed. The EWC need to be fresh so they have a high microbial population to start breaking down those nutrients so your plants can use them. Bagged ewc is always second rate imo. Added a layer of mulch on the top to keep it moist so the microbes can do their work.

I hear you there, any worked 5.0 liter will take me in a short straight, but in the twisties... I got em. But you are totally right, NOTHING is as fast as worked evos or STIs, but they both have serious longevity problems, but that's a turbo for ya. If I remember correctly the evo is like 20-22psi of boost, that's a whole lot, damn near tire pressure.

fastest car I was ever in, was a 600hp Subaru STI, when I nailed the accelerator, it LITERALLY felt like I got rear-ended by a 18 wheeler, I swear I actually looked behind me to see if something punted me. TOO damn fast. I'd end up in a ditch somewhere, or wrapped around a telephone, like jerry the racecar driver.... 22 yrs old... ok sorry, old Primus reference.
I've driven cars with MUCH more HP, but that Subaru put every speck of it on the ground, as opposed to old-school RWD....Well, I don't need to tell you, I'm sure with an agro cam and head, on a 5 liter, you're spending some cash on rubber, that's for sure.

I forget about the head gasket problem the STI has! I got the TrickFlow stage2 top end kit, they are popular. The company advertised HP gain from 225hp to 375hp... The guys on the mustang forums say it is 325hp on a dyno. The scary part is that it is a convertible!
My goal is to restore/mod '64-'69 mustangs with modern drivetrain... Mech school was a breeze for me, I graduated with honors. However, I attempted collision repair twice and had to drop out twice... Its a diff animal... I have a buddy that does structure repair at an air force base. We may be able to pull it off together!

the new mazda turbos are having HUGE probs too, TSB for oil consumption and cat efficiency codes, turbo by-pass, need new turbos and cat, only like 3 grand...
those convertible mustangs are damn heavy, lot of body flex, no wonder you are scared in the weather, a friend of mine actually started tearing his fox-body in half (lengthwise) with his torque, can't remember what he had done to it, but it was supercharged with a couple other go-fast goodies on it. literally tearing the body, on passenger side under the pass bank exhaust, crawling back up to the rear seat. No rust, just splitting the steel.
I hear ya on the body work, I stay away from that.
