I had a couple leafs start out like that this grow, nothing happened. Grew fine. If I can find them tonight I’ll post a pic.

Usually means lots of lime nitrogen and potassium restricting boron. Those bagged soils are a mess.

Yes it affects things. You can't photosynthesize if there's no chlorophyll. Mainstream hortaculture is a backwards mess and so are people who learn from it. That's why you hear statements like "A moderate overload of boron, for instance, will cause some variegated leaf varieties to turn entirely green."
