Odd Seedling Question This has now happened TWICE!!

soil runoff is under 6.o its off the scale and I cannot tell im really hoping lime takes care of this issue any ideas?

yes, FINE PULVERIZED dolomite lime is the correct soil amendment for this pH issue. anything larger grain will take too long to amend pH.

If I was you I would not water daily water every other day.. As far as the nutes don't use unless your plants are atleast 3 weeks old then use 1/4 str for a week then 1/2 str for a week then full strength..

i think it's really hard to say how much to water unless you are using the same mix/pot. i something similar, but with soil instead of peat, and my irrigation system waters daily, which works fine.

ok guys i started from scratch old seedlins didnt look like they were going to make it. I went and bought some pennington's fast acting lime and mixed in about 6 pounds into my soil i think that may have been too much. afterwards i checked my runoff and it is still of the scale. if this does not work i will just buy some promix something of that nature i put some potting soil in my mix too any suggestions

also this is prilled lime is that the same as dolomite any suggestions on soil mix available from home depot/lowes if this does t work thanks

it should be good, as long as the granules are small. if they're too large it takes a while to release and moderate pH. usually 2tbsp / gallon is about right, but add a bit more if you think you need it and it shouldn't be a problem. Let the soil sit for a while while wet with lime mixed in, and actually pull a little soil sample out and pH test that.

seems to be doing the job so runoff is around 7 do you think this will clear u the issue

it should . if it doesn't, i don't have another answer for you except for amending the water to compensate, but if you're going to do all that you might as well go hydro.
