I read that post along with another one that showed this type of arrangment. I was looking for some thing I could do. Instead of all those fittings, screens etc. I bought a mesh waste basket, used a couple of clamps and wire ties to attach the carbon filter to the outside of the waste basket. Done. You could use anything 'mesh'. The carbon filter is available at Menards, 16" by 48", $9.00. Says to change it every three months. VV

I use an Ecoquest Fresh Air. All the hype from failed dealers on rippoff report but I tried one anyway and it works amazing. RCI type technology was originaly created by NASA to help plants grow in space. It converts etheylene gas into carbon dioxide...but it eliminates odors and even makes a strong skunk unnoticable unless you touch it of course. Has anyone else tried one. Theye aren't cheap. $700 but since it kills bacteria viruses and fungus too it was worth the investment. Now when I can smell my trash I know it has to be nasty.

gets rid of smoke and odors rather quickly too...wish I had it at 16, I never would have been grounded.

Y but they are costly if things go wrong and the units waranty is void if you don't buy it through an EQ dealer. They are worth far more than that. I have 2 of em and I love em. Even sanitize my sneakers with em every once in a while and it makes em smell fresh ...

you must live up north. i own ecoquest products and have never seen them advertised anywhere in the southern united states. only in indiana actually. but the do work wonders. one unit keeps my house smelling fresh everyday. even thogh i smoke cigarettes and blunts in it all the time. and they stink.
