Odor Control

So i will be making a 4 by 3 grow box out of plywood lines on the outside with laminate for looks, mylar insulated interior with two 85w 5500k and 2 2700k 18w lamps for a slight red spectrum. I have two fans one 120mm which will blow air inside and two 80mm fans which will exhaust all the air. Now the issue is that if i line both sides of these fans with a thin activated carbon sheet will the smell leak out of the insulated box. I am growing pineaple chunk which is very heavy in odor and i have to keep the smell completely inside the box considering its only 1 plant.

With your current lighting your be spending more than you would pay for something off the dude behind the chicken shop.

i would come at the grow correctly if you want to be successful. add more lights and odor is something you should not just go cheap on because thats whats going to get you caught. get a small inline fan and a nice carbon filter atleast. you want the filter to be rated higher CFM than your fan.

if you have the fan and filter outside the box pulling air from inside, all the odor will get sucked up because of the negative pressure inside the cab.

I used those thin activated carbon sheets to build a scrubber for my veg room. It kept that smell under control but the filter only lasted about 2 months. It might seem like a cheap option now but keep in mind a good carbon filter should last around 12-18 months.

If those are actual watts and not "equivalent" watts then you will be ok with 200+ watts on one plant. If they are equivalent watts you will need much more light. Good Luck

Its ok in terms of the filters as long as they work for one plant its fine for me. I will get a carbon filter if i decide to grow more than one plant otherwise i dont see a point since i smoke casually

I just finished a pineapple chunk grow and have clones in flower now. It is stinky!!! In my opinion, no way anything but a real carbon filter will work. Trust me.

I have a veg cab and refilled an old filter with new carbon. Keep in mind, nothing in flower, just six plants in veg. It couldn't handle the odor. problem with odor control is that once you find out you have a problem, the smell is there. So depending on your situation and what it means if smell leaks, decide accordingly.

And with no offence to anyone, ONA to me is not an alternative. Shit stinks.
